  1. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. What hardware would be needed for a server for around 10-20 users to log on and use for file sharing and managing users. This will need to be quite and sit in a room without being noticed. The server is used to manage accounts and restrict what files they can open and user files like a normal computer. This server will also have to run a print server for the users however only 5 will be using it. There is no set budget but the cheapest option that will work fine will be the best. There isn't going to be many more devices connected to it. I will be running windows server 2012 on this for the user management.
  2. I was thinking that and customise it so it's easy to use and don't let them brake it
  3. I was going to do that but none of the machines actually log onto as it just does the usual no logon servers available. Some log on some dont
  4. Hi, I am helping a youth organisation that use a windows network, they want to get rid of their server. Is there a way to to make windows log on as normal standalone machine again after it has been configured for a server. I was thinking about just creating local accounts but don't know if that could make it complicated. Is there a way to do a whole reinstall and create a system imagine without buying new keys?
  5. I'm not looking to ease of use I'm looking for a OS that will allow me to do what I want and won't move my files locations without telling me. I like the idea of Linux and want to give it ago. I'll be using it for college work so assignments and java, PHP and HTML coding.
  6. Thanks I want to dual boot so i can work on Linux and play games on windows.
  7. Fed up of viruses and errors all the time. Upgraded to windows but only use it to play games otherwise I use OSX
  8. Hi, I have decided to move over to Linux. This is a new thing for me, I have chosen my OS ubuntu with an OSX theme so I can use it easily. I need help to get games working and ways to install things like notepad ++ or have an alternative for software ill need. If I could have some help with things ill need and basis it would be great.
  9. Thanks for the link and i normally use VM ware (workstation + fusion) so that i can use different OS's
  10. That is what I'm going to have to do i guess. At least I can use VMs if I don't need GPU acceleration. Thanks for your help
  11. No I'm not able to anymore which is the annoying thing
  12. Hi so I upgraded to windows10 a while back and don't really like it. I use a Mac book for college and soon uni and love the OS and how user-friendly it is. I like playing games in my free time and was wondering what you guys think I should do? I want to take my windows machine and make it a Hackintosh with a VM running windows for gaming. I used VMs on both my windows and Mac Book so i can get all software. My specs are Core i5 4430 3.0GHz 8gb corsair low profile RAM GT970 from MSI 280gb SSD Will my PC be able to run modern games well on a VM or should I dual boot?
  13. at the moment i have a I5, 8gb of ram, cheep money, 480gb SSD, GTX 970, 1TB hard drive (always has errors) i live in the UK and i don't really have a budget but would prefer under £10000
