DaCrewMaster got a reaction from SPCFHT in PIA to shutdown Hong Kong servers due to new security law
    ----------------------------------------------
    Summary
VPN services are shutting down their servers in Hong Kong due to the new security law from China.

It is sad to see that even businesses are forced to cut ties with Hong Kong. I understand that PIA is a business and has to what is best for the company, but it is still sad to see that they have to remove an avenue for free speech. I wonder what other businesses will have to leave Hong Kong because of these types of laws. Lastly, I would like everyone to think of all the freedoms that we take for granted.

See, the funny thing is most mainlanders don't even use popular VPNs, but rather small inconspicuous offshore shadowsocks servers.

Not like I ever need them 95% of the time anyways.

You only upgrade when performance no longer meets your standards, unless you really want a new toy. The 6700K is still a good CPU, overclockable with decent single threaded performance, and 4c/8t. Would 3rd gen ryzen or 9th gen Intel yield more performance? Definitely. Would it make a difference for your experience? Probably not, honestly

It works now. No idea what was wrong, but reseated the ram, messed with the cables, took out and put back in the cmos battery, and it's alive. Am equally happy and confused lol.

DaCrewMaster reacted to TetraSky in Anyone know where to get 8k 360 VR sample video? (Other than YouTube)
If your issue is that it "lags" or "stutter", it could just be your internet connection. You could have the best PC ever, if you don't have the network connection to back it up, you're looking for a lot of buffering and stuttering. Hell, just plain 8k videos require at least 80Mbps if they are of decent qualities.
A high quality 720p 360˚ VR video need at least 50 Mbps to be able to enjoy properly, so 8k would be a lot higher than that. For example, for a high quality "retinal" 4k VR video, it's estimated that you'd need a network speed as high as 600 Mbps.
But if properly compressed, an 8k VR video could only require as low at 120Mbps.

    What's your network speed?

Contact some of the VR headset makers, explain your issue, and see if they have some vids you can borrow

I would suggest you find the license key for the server and wipe the system and re-install. You sure as hell don't want to be using a server pre-configured by some eBay seller.

No such thing as a "default" password. It was something the seller set, and you'll have to contact them to get it.
Now, it can be bypassed if I can get more details on the system. I assume you are trying to log into Windows?

DaCrewMaster reacted to SufianDiraneyya in Power Supply Calculator High Combined Power
Hi, this is my first post ever! I'm searching for a power supply for a new PC that I'm building, and I'm using OuterVision's Power Supply Calculator. But whatever I tweak it gives me an enormous high (over 115w) max. combined power (3.3V + 5V (W)). This makes me chose Corsair over EVGA for the high combined power, a power supply like the Corsair RM850x V2 has a very high one at 150w, and tom's hardware comments: "The minor rails are overkill by today's standards, given their 150W maximum combined power.". I don't know if I need this much of a combined power, Help me with that guys.

happened to see an ad for this earlier, if you've ever wanted to do Hybrids the way Gamers Nexus does them you could pull the block/pump/AIO Assembly from this kit and convert any 10 series Founders card to an AIO like they have done on there channel and at 60 bucks it's well worth it.

    Try without the cablemod cables.

Does it even post? If not, I would try a different PSU altogether. I've had units suddenly be unable to power on systems other than lights and fans.
EDIT: by "suddenly" I mean one happened overnight, the other happened after a reboot.

I think your CPU should be fine for the next couple years  although getting a new CPU would probably Boost performance but is the price really worth it?

Yeah, 30FPS isn't great but considering how taxing it is, it's at least a solid first step. Though for a $1000 GPU, I think I can sort of understand a bit of the angst

30-60fps at 1080p may well be impressive. But that just isn't the performance that I want yet.
I'd sooner play titles at 1440p at 100+ fps.

For the price of these new cards, I am struggling to see the desire to be an early adopter of the technology at the moment.
