  1. I've recently been researching on a way to prevent potential security threats from entering my home network (such as viruses hanging out in my routers firmware), and found that many home network routers are not made with very secure firmware. I'm looking to buy a new router, and would like to get a router that is very secure, but also doesn't cost much more than $200 (preferably cheaper). Are there ANY home network routers that have at least decent security, that will keep my devices relatively safe, or should I go for a business router? Also just a side note, I don't need a router with a tremendous amount of range, my house is fairly small, if you have any recommendations please let me know! Thanks!
  2. Phew... Alright good, glad I don't need to go through and delete all the images I mindlessly save to my computer. Thanks for the help! Will certainly still be more cautious though just knowing that there is a very minuscule chance...
  3. When browsing images on Google Images, is it safe to right click, and save the image to a PC? Is it possible to obtain a virus this way? Or is it even safe to click "view image", then right click and save the image? I normally just freely save any and every image I see that I like on google and just wanted to make sure that was safe to do! Recently I've been trying to find any possible way that I could avoid any type of infection on my PC after finding Malware on it, so I would appreciate any advice for this topic.
  4. Even if they use a dimming circuit? Sorry, I'm a newbie as far as that goes.
  5. http://www.asus.com/us/Monitors_Projectors/MX279H/ I'd prefer a monitor that uses a dimming circuit to prevent eyestrain and constant flickering if possible and was just curious if this one had it? Also, how can you tell? Are there any websites that specify whether or not a monitor uses DC or not?
  6. Turned the brightness on my monitor up all the way and don't notice any at all anymore, not even from my phone's camera. I'll keep that in mind while deciding.
  7. Well, I originally didn't plan on getting a new monitor along with it but my TV doesn't get along well with my Xbox One well as far as overscan goes, and to top it off, my TV doesn't seem to have any setting to adjust the overscan setting, so through a lot of research I ended up finding that a monitor would be better than a TV for Xbone. Though I do plan on getting a much better PC in the future. -Also thanks for the heads-up.
  8. Ahhh, I see. What types typically don't flicker?
  9. I'm not sure if there's really any significant difference between the two? I'll most likely get one or the other for my Xbox One, but am not sure which. Which would be best? -Also, do either have noticeable screen flickering?
  10. That's what I thought, but both my tv and monitor run at 60hz which threw me off.
  11. I checked both my computer monitor and TV and noticed that my monitor has a considerable amount of flicker, while my TV doesn't? Why is that?
  12. Alright, so I'm almost positive that I'm going to be getting the ASUS MX279H. Considering I'll almost always be using it for console gaming, the 60hz won't bother me one bit, plus it has 5ms response time, which I'm assuming will be good enough for gaming, or at least an upgrade from my 8ms TV I currently use, and to top it off, it uses an IPS panel that reviewers seem to love. Just wanted to slip it through here and see what you guys think? -also, the 27" should be fine for me since i'm using it as a TV of sorts.
  13. Alright, I'll take a look into all of these. Thanks everyone!
  14. I figured, I'd still be happy with 60hz though since I'll mostly be using consoles for it. Also, is there by any chance a 27" version?
  15. Also forgot to mention that I can't really go over $500. Or else I probably would have bought that beauty by now. Thanks though.
