I currently have 3 servers with a full 45u server rack in my room. All of the servers I bought off ebay for $150 each or less including all things needed to run like hard drives, ram and cpus. I currently have one Dell Poweredge 750 (dual core, 2 gigs of ram, 1x 86gb SAS Hard drive) running pfsense as a secondary router for 5 ips I own. I also have one Dell Poweredge R310 (Quad Core Xeon 2.4Ghz, 8gb ram, and 2x 300gb SAS Hard drives) running plex and zpanel. And finally I have a beast Dell Poweredge 1950 with two Xeon Quad cores with a total of 8 cores running at 2.5Ghz, with 32Gb of ram, and 2x 360gb SAS Hard drives. I mainly use this server for VMware and Zpanel. I also host a game server and a database for that game server on Zpanel. All of these amazing pieces of art are wrapped in a Cooper-b Line 45u server rack. Now is this overkill, YES, COMPLETELY OVERKILL for what I am using them for. But do they get the job done for a cheap price? Yes. Here are a list of prices for all of the items in the rack. I honestly say "go with whatever your heart desires". But be carefull and don't buy anything overpriced or something that looks a little "off" on ebay. If the person doesn't list any specs or details I usually skip over them and their dream like prices.

I've even tried that but it doesnt show up as a drive in the computer management software! (The place where you format drives)

So after realizing that my 2TB storage drive failed about a month ago I bought a new one. When plugging the new hard drive in and formated it there was no option to delete the old hard drive. I didnt think about not deleting the old hard drive was a bad thing it at the time of reformatting. But ever since then i've had nothing but troubles. For some reason on the side where it shows all of your connected hard drives it still shows the hard drive as a drive. Whenever I try delete/eject the drive it just says error ejecting. I also tried to delete the the drive on the drive formatting screen. (It didnt work) So I didnt think that it would change much of what I do on a daily basis and forgot about it. Well a month later down the road I wanted to play some league and of course I had league on that storage drive. So of course I could just go uninstall it and install it again on my new drive, well no. It says the the directory is not found and I cannot delete the program. So how else am I supposed to delete things if the hard drive isnt working? I then tried just to overwrite the league game files with a fresh install. But as it says before "The folder 'LOL Files' contains an invalid character" and I cannot complete the install. So what I am getting from this is I cannot hook my hard drive backup because it is dead and also I cannot delete or reinstall anything that was on the drive because somehow the computer recognizes the drive. So how do I take off the hard drive from my computer and make my computer know that it cannot access any of the old files. System Specs that you need to know Windows 10

So if anyone is having this problem in the future, you need a DOCSIS 3.0 modem that can support speeds above your network speeds. I picked out a Linksys Advanced DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. This should supply enough speeds for what I have!

Ok. I also just realized that if I upgrade to gigabit I will get a fiber line run into my house. Lolz

So currently I am trying to setup a pfSense box in my house to handle all of my DHCP plus some and I have run into a problem. The old router I got from my ISP had the wan interface as a coax jack and the coax cable ran through the wall of my house into that port. But since now I am trying to ditch the crappy ISP's router for a pfSense box, I have no way to plug my incoming coax cable directly into my new pfSense router. Is there something I can buy for under $50 USD that may allow me to change the coax cable into usable high speed internet? Also I want my pfSense box to be the first firewall in the lineup, them my old crappy router to allow all of my wireless devices to use wifi. If you guys know about what to do or buy please help me in the comment below! Specs of internet: 220 Download 20 Upload (I want to keep all of my speeds and still have wiggle room for gigabit in the future) Wan incoming is coax cable.

Ya, I think its mostly just nobody being on at the time. With nobody in the neighborhood using any bandwidth I get to use as much as my router can handle.

No! I feel like the king of the world! Duh

So today I was staying up late like the usual and I felt like the webpages I was loading seamed to load a little bit faster than normal. So I headed on over to my trusty old pal I call "Speedtest.net" and I clicked that amazing button called "Start test" and guess what! The needle went blasting through the end of the speedometer and around and around it went. 1, 2, 3, 4. It was never going to stop. But it did, and it just so happened to be at 228 Mbps Download and 17 Mbps Upload. THATS 78 MB HIGHER THAN ITS SUPPOSE TO BE! I felt like the king of the world. I could download anything in a couple of seconds (I could always do that). But I looked down at the time and the default lame ass windows calendar said "2:42 AM". I was the only one up in my house. The whole neighborhood? The whole county? Holy crap, I'm going to become Nocturnal! This is amazing!

OMG!!! For some reason it just randomly worked!!! Idk why but I can only access it from the actual server not my workstation. But thanks for the help!

Yes I've tried tried all of that!!! Even deleted all the files and reinstalled it!!!

So I am new to the host your own web server thing and I just installed zpanel to make my life much easier. But once I installed all of the things I need and I have my server up and running I cant access it from the web. I type in the IPv4 adress which is "192.168.0.21" but it doesn't take me to the zpanel webpage, it just takes me to the windows server 2012 access from anywhere page! Plz help me! I cant access my zpanel web server!

O ya. Right now I have an all in one router from my ISP. Totally forgot. Thank you very much!

So today I was researching premade PFSence routers and I relized that a coaxle cable come into my house from my ISP. I also researched coax to Ethernet adapters and there are none of a kind. So I kinda NEED help.

Ok so I currently own 1 server and I am thinking about expanding but the one limit is that the more servers I add the more likely change I have of being DDOSed or being hacked. So just to be on the safe side I want to buy a firewall and install pf sense. But I was just thinking about what the cable that comes into my house will connect to. The router is the one that usually has the coaxal cable plugged into it. So I dont know how I will be protected when my firewall is on the inside of my network. In other terms (my router comes before my VPN so what is the VPN protecting by being on the inside of the network?).

Ok! Last night I was looking at the Ubuntu forms (Ubuntu is the linux OS I am most familiar with) and a couple people had the same problem as me! They said that any version higher than 14.04! So today I will try booting from a later vertion of Ubuntu and if that doesn't work I will try CentOS! And this is a game server btw! so some of the games don't support certain distros! But thank you again!

Yes I changed the USB port and reimaged and still nothing!
