  1. UPDATE: Added 2 more Corsair SP120 fans in intake configuration to the bottom together with some filters and connected them to the gpu. Also added a picture to the first post
  2. Yeah I absolutely love it. Too bad that I didn't win the lottery with the 1600x and I can only get 3.9GHz at 4.25v
  3. umm to be frank I don't see a proper reason to upgrade the proc since...mwell.... it doesn't bring any real benefits. as for sli...well I'd rather go crossfire on amd, has way better scaling and support still.. but dual gpu is pretty much dead 4 now .
  4. Well it was built mostly during my(still student) period and early job period which meant being always on a budget. and Since I live in Romania even now I can't say I earn a lot even though I work in Automotive so myeah, tried to get the best for high end gaming while still being on a budget.
  5. Hi guys, I decided to present today my faithful rig which I have been using for a while and have been upgrading since 2014, Of course I will not go over all I changed since then and will present the current configuration with more posts to come whenever I change something. So here it goes: Case: CORSAIR Obsidian 750D Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair VI Hero CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600x CPU Cooling: CORSAIR Hydro PRO 150i RGB 360mm with the standard fans mounted in a push configuration on top Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB( 2x 8GB) 3000Mhz GPU: ASUS Strix GTX 1080TI Soundcard: ASUS Strix Soar Storage 1: SAMSUNG EVO 860 250GB M.2 (system ssd) Storage 2: SAMSUNG EVO 850 500GB Sata 3 Storage 3: SAMSUNG QVO 860 1TB Sata 3 PSU: SEASONIC Prime 850 Ultra Titanium 850W Case cooling: 2x 140mm Corsair SP140 series mounted in front and 1x 140mm Corsair SP140 series mounted in the back. Fans came with the case. Now to justify my, probably, weird picks. I previously had a SEASONIC 850w Bronze psu which died after 3 consecutive electric shocks from the electricity provider(they screwed up multiple people back then) and I decided to buy the best psu there is for 850w since, well, it should be the part I upgrade least. The case was purchased in 2015 for the desire to have something that can last me long in terms of what I'm able to fit in it and while it is still very useful even today and will be for the next few years I'm thinking of upgrading to something with a glass panel. The CPU and Motherboard combo was chosen in 2017 to replace the aging FX8120 and 990fx Sabertooth motherboard and while I could've easily gotten a 1700x or 1800x and a cheaper motherboard I chose the other way around as back then I already had a 4k display(since 2014) and a GTX1080 so I preferred a board with long term support and plenty of features for future generations of Ryzen cpus and the 1600x as it would've been a bottleneck only in total war games and Civ games which I play only occasionally. To my surprise it's also a bottleneck to the badly optimized A.C. games. Still, wonderful cpu, no reason to upgrade yet. The GPU was purchased in December 2017 after I rma'd my MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X which died(unexpectedly) and I got the full value for it back, only adding ~$50 for the 1080ti. Of course it was the best card for 4k gaming back then. While there are now better options out there I might still hold out for a year or 2 so the upgrade would be more significant and see what RTG brings to the enthusiast market. The SoundCard was purchased for a set of Logitech z506 5.1 sound setup and it still was a NOTICEABLE difference vs the onboard sound card. the Storage picks came in a weird fashion. I only switched to SSD in early 2018 with the evo 850 500gb added next to my -now retired- Seagate Firecuda 1TB. When the SSDs got cheaper half a year later I immediately bought the evo 860 250gb m.2 for the system partition. Call me a pleb but I still can't really see the benefit of paying extra for nvme. and the QVO was added a few months ago to be able to store some more stuff and install more games. Now the weirdest pick in the bunch. the Hydro pro 150i. I picked it as my old H100i 1st gen died, was rma'd, got the money back and it was only a ~$30 difference to upgrade to the 150i and I figured I might get a more powerful CPU in the future so why not? It also keeps the 1600x super cool at stock speeds and the pc is overall very quiet so I'm please. I will add some pictures later. If you want to know the Peripherals I'm using just say and I'll make a list of those as well. Awaiting your opinions!?
  6. Hey guys having the same problem with the Tri-x. same bsod 124 error. CPU wasn't OC'ed and it still crashed. Running with my old R9 270x from gigabyte and CPU Oc'ed to 4.2Ghz and no such problems. Also the R9 290 Tri-x didn't crash while it was RMA-ed and now a friend has been testing it for 1 month now and no crash. I think it's the motherboard's fault. Somehow it can't cope with that much power :-?? after all the chipset on those mobos isn't quite made for the FX cpu's
