WereCat got a reaction from Techstorm970 in 7900 GRE to launch globally on Feb 27th for $549
Found it for 622eur in multiple e-shops in Slovakia but this one has it for 500eur (in stock)... though they say they are not a tax payers so no idea if that is with the 20% VAT included.
By law they should only list prices with VAT included and if not, they are supposed to at least state the price does not include tax. Still, that would be 600eur. Cheapest RX 7900 XT I could find is starting at 765eur so this is still a significant discount from it.

For reference (cheapest listed, not in stock) RTX 4070 starts at 560eur and RTX 4070 Super at eye watering 645eur.

    EDIT:

Man, seems like the nerfed memory bandwidth really hurts this card vs 7900 XT. To be fair this is from a 6 month old review so the performance may have improved with drivers but I wouldn't really bet on it.

That can still be just a buggy sensor on the RAM. Even without cooling RAM will not run this hot.
For your crashing, have you ran any RAM test?

These reading don't make any sense. I doubt that DDR4 can run that hot ever and even if it could it would fail way before that.
    Use Hwinfo64 instead.

5950x is normally 400 iirc and the 5900x is closer to $330. 5500 is at an all time low and same for 5600x, which is actually cheaper than the 5600 now in the US. Those prices look great in slovakia!

Any distro with rolling updates is usually the best pick for gaming since you want all the new driver optimizations and features and game compatibility. Does not really matter which specific distro IMO... most of the "gaming" distros just have SW preinstalled which you would have to install yourself like Steam for example.

5900X and 5950X are only really good deals for people already with high amounts of DDR4 and good AM4 mobos

They're all going to perform very similar. All distributions are ultimately based on Linux (the kernel). The major difference is primarily what kind of software is included out of the box and available in repositories, which kernel version is used by default, how often updates are made available and so on.

You might be able to get a tiny percentage out of distributions that make you compile everything for your particular architecture, but that's going to be a ton of work and likely not worth it.

    Summary
AMD have officially announced a global release of the 7900 GRE on Feb 27th, launching for $549

    My thoughts
To me, it's a W from AMD. That launch price wasn't the best but now it seems like a decent option. 7800 XT still seems like the best value but at least we've got a better competitor to the 4070 SUPER (7800 XT was about in line with the 4070 SUPER performance but now the 7900 GRE should be better than it, even though the official competitor of price is the 4070)

WereCat got a reaction from Middcore in I want to build a "budget" gaming PC. Should I get a GTX 1650 4 GB, the new 6 GB version of the RTX 3050, an RX 6500 XT 4GB?
Buy used card in that budget, you will get much more performance.
6500 XT requires PCIe 4.0 or it will perform significantly worse as it only has 4-lanes.
GTX 1650 has only 4GB VRAM which will not be enough for modern games.
RTX 3050 6GB is just slightly better than GTX 1650 and costs way more.

RX 6600 is significantly better than any of these and if you're looking at used cards even something like RX 5600 XT will be much better than the ones you've mentioned for cheaper.

Noted. I'll bump up the RAM spec. Vengeance® 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 DRAM 6000MT/s CL36 Memory Kit is the one I've gone with. Couldn't really find one with EXPO tho. And for the CPU downgrade I kinda don't want to do that because it may not be that upgrade-able in the future so I think I'd rather just take the hit on the RAM than bump down the processor. And the difference in price wasn't enough to give it a serious thought as it was only around 3,000 ₹INR or 36 $US

"good enough" = does it meet your performance expectations in games you play?
    If yes = good enough
    If not /= good enough

I mean, obviously upgrading the CPU will give you better performance. Do you need better performance?

Considering the difference between these cards is just 30 lib... You should probably just suck it up and pay that 70 total extra and go with AM5.

Getting an AIO for a 7700X is a waste of money, get a cheap tower cooler instead.

Also, if your looking to play graphically demanding titles you should above the 4060 Ti (especially the 8GB model).

The only VA panels worth anything are probably just the Samsung panels as they do something special that makes VA actually fast and not smeary in motion. Though Samsung tends to have QA issues quite often so it's hit or miss sometimes to get a monitor without issues from them.

So if Samsung VA is not an option I would then just look into IPS though when looking at what is available it seems like they do cost quite a bit more. Not sure what is your budget.
