AMD on Linux sucks more for work than on Windows.
Many video editing programs like KDenlive or Davinci Resolve don't even support HEVC HW encoders on AMD.
Blender will not render with the GPU unless you use the non-FOSS Pro driver.

These things actually work on NVIDIA on Linux better... But then there's the thing with NVIDIA that not all series cards work and usually new HW is huge hit and miss.

Because not everything works on Linux or it works better on Windows than on Linux or because people have issues on Linux they don't know how to solve and don't have time or energy or both to deal with it and learn new OS so that they can do what can they do right now without the hassle.

It's faster than RX 7800 XT, in almost every scenario:
Can't really think of many pros of 7800 XT over the 4070 Ti

I have the same headphones and I do the same thing. Though sometimes when I'm lazy to fetch my phone to turn off BT when I'm trying to connect to my laptop then I'll just hold the power button until I get into pairing mode and then connect them to laptop.

Too many variables but I'd personally try adjusting SOC and DRAM Voltage manually first.

If those are dual rank sticks then it's not going to work easily without some manual tuning as you're likely held back by the 2000 series Ryzens memory controller which isn't that great and can be very picky.

Alright so that is just a software issue really.

You can DDU the driver and then reinstall the newest gpu driver from the nvidia website.

WereCat reacted to RONOTHAN## in Can VRAM OC damage it ?
    No.

Nothing you can do in MSI Afterburner can damage the card. The only thing that really can damage a GPU is raising voltages beyond safe limits, and Nvidia cards in particular have become so locked down over the past decade that there's no way you could increase the voltage enough to become dangerous without physically modifying the GPU. You can make it unstable by raising the frequency, but you can't damage anything.

Constant voltage, the frequency slider only touches the frequency.

Yes, it's normal for drivers to have issues, NVIDIA has them too... people just don't scream about them as much for some reason.

WereCat got a reaction from da na in How much better is Nvida at rt?
I upgraded from RTX 3060ti to RX 6800 XT.
While the RX 6800 XT is over 60% faster in raster it's about the same performance in RT from what I've tried. To put that into perspective, neither RTX 3060ti or RX 6800 XT are good enough for RT at 1440p without upscaling.

RTX 4070 will be far ahead of either of these and I would say it's the entry level usable RT card... depending on game since the RT implementations vary a lot from game to game. You can definitely use it for some of the more demanding implementations.
That said, from what I've seen of RT. I'm still not sold on it for at least next 3 generations.

Picking Nvidia vs AMD can almost always be tricky, what AMD lacks in RT can catch up in raster performance, these cards are within same price range, but one seems to come out noticeably better:

Assuming we’re talking 1440p, this should give you a very general idea for how things stack up in RT.

These charts are meant to give an idea of relative performance, not to be an indication of framerate.

For a frame of reference, here is the same resolution but is rasterization.

I am still struggling with the fact that they made "new teams" and updated the "old teams" but left the "old teams" installed as separate application where, whenever I need to run the Teams, it first turns on the "old teams" asking me if I want to use "new teams". But whenever I search for "Teams" in Windows search, it opens the "old teams" all over again. It's unnecessary annoying mess.

The worst is, the in-browser version works way better and smoother.
