  2. As per my last comment, I've misread your post. So to answer. Yes, 7900X3D is better than 7900X for gaming while sacrificing slightly the multi-core performance due to lower clockspeeds in multi-threaded workloads. If the difference is 50eur and nothing else is an option, I'd take the X3D still.
  3. I saw 7800X3D vs 7900X3D .... either I'm blind or the post was edited
  4. 7800X3D is better gaming CPU than 7900X3D as it provides way more consistent results because it does not need to have to rely on a cross CCD scheduling optimizations. Only get the 7900X3D or 7950X3D if you value multi-core performance for workloads over gaming performance.
  5. A lot of Single-Player games run on Linux well. A lot of especially Multi-Player games don't run on Linux at all because of anti-cheat. If you're mainly Single-Player and are willing to get over some hurdles then there is absolutely nothing wrong with trying gaming on Linux and some games do actually run better on Linux but that does not automatically mean that Linux gaming is better as the experience will vary from game to game. If you're mainly Multi-Player then I can't really recommend Linux for gaming at all unless you're absolutely sure the games you want to play do run on Linux. You can check something like https://www.protondb.com for that. You also need to keep in mind that just because the MP games you want to play right now, they may not run after an update like League of Legends for example when they forced their Vanguard anti-cheat and the game no longer even launches despite being able to run flawlessly for many years before. Best distros for gaming are usually rolling releases but they are also less stable. IMO something like Arch or Fedora will be best but I can't really recommend Arch based distro for newbie.

I mean, for what I used it for it was enough. It had broken graphics card since factory so occasionally it artifacted and restarted. I was too lazy to RMA it so I endured it for 6y until it broke completely Yes but sometimes even in pitch black when you need backlight keyboard and you see it's Australia copy on the screen.

This is my 2nd laptop ever so I have very little experience with laptops. Last one was some random ASUS with AMD Turion dual core... Around 15y ago. I do have glossy OLED on the Yoga. It does look really ducking amazing but sometimes the mirror like reflections are really annoying. The speakers are meh at best though, nothing like what you describe.

Yeah, they stupidly rebranded Yoga. Now some can do 360 but most only 180. And now Flex can do 360

It's time to ask difficult questions. What was first? Thigh highs or Linux?

    Such stylish, much wow:

Does it use laser to miss burning the hair? I mean... I'm not saying it's scam but these are certainly shaveless tactics against SW fans.
  14. That's quite good. It's faster than 7600XT
  15. Well, that's quite terrible pricing

They are right to an extent but then they push their agenda so hard they become hypocrites.

I've spent too much time reading comments on Lemmy and had to vent. It's too much to summarise their black and white stances
  19. I swear to doG... Firefox elitist are somehow even worse than Linux elitist.

  20. 7600XT for $400 is a scam... The card is barely worth $300 for the 16GB version. $500 for the 7700XT is also on the higher side but way more reasonable for the performance. How much are the RX 6800 or 6800 XT? RX 6700 XT or 6750 XT are also usually cheaper than 7600 XT while being faster.
  21. So this will use whatever is in the Stream tab which by default will be really bad so you want to change that to HEVC (h.265) preferably with your GPU so for NVIDIA you will choose NVENC h.265 and for AMD there should be something like AMAF h.265. MP4 is just a container it has nothing to do with quality. MP4 has a disadvantage that if your recording gets interrupted for example by random restart or something, the whole file will be corrupted. Something like .MKV should still work until that point though.

  23. I don't know how it's on RDNA3 cards but on RDNA2 cards the fans speed is based on the hotspot temp. On my Sapphire Pulse 6800 XT by default the fans don't spin at all up to 50C by default so at 60C or 70C it makes little sense for them to suddenly go from 0% RPM to like 30-50% RPM if the temp is low enough. You can easily control the fans in the Adrenaline Software as well in the Performance/Tuning tab. I've set mine to never go above 75% RPM as even at 350W it's fine and I hate 0% RPM mode and prefer fans to spin all the time at low RPM as it's inaudible anyways...
  24. Yes, but I experienced it first time this week after the last update. I restarted phone and it seems to be fine now. Pixel 7. I had my physical data SIM work fine but my main eSIM was without any signal until I restarted phone (Tuesday).
