RDNA 2 sneak peak...

So I checked guru3d RTX 3080 for quick comparison vs the sneak peak of RX 6000 series for 4k performance and here we go.

I couldnt find CoD benchmark and the Borderlands one is DX11 on Guru3D vs AMD DX12 but should be close enough just for a rough comparison.

So AMD is definitely shooting at faster than 2080ti performance and they are almost in the reach of RTX 3080. Obviously, 1st party benchmarks so take it with a huge grain of salt.

If true, and the price is about $50-$100 less then I think it will sell well. Especially when now the RTX 3000 is out of stock everywhere. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the RX 6000 will go out of stock on release day as well.

AMD has just as many problems as Nvidia when it comes to getting stock on the shelves. So I don't expect that to be any different, especially since they're launching so late in the year; I imagine we'll see January/Feb before there's widespread availability for either brands cards.

Interesting, though. I wonder if this is their top tier card, or if they have something that competes with the 3090; I'm assuming it's the top, since they matched it with their fastest CPU.

Is "badass" the same as "ultra"? Plus who knows what else they tweaked. Have they said when the NDA lifts on the benchmarks?

Zen 3 is 5th of November for launch so I'm assuming that's also the NDA lift.

For RDNA2 the 28th of October will be another separate event just for GPUs so we will see more details then.

I don't have Borderlands 3 so I have absolutely no idea if the "Badass" Quality settings are actually the best in-game preset settings or if just AMD called it that.

Considering that everything AMD does is made at TSMC it wouldn't be surprising at all to get low stock since they have to do CPUs, GPUs and also supply both console launches and then OEMs and servers, etc...

But I remember them saying that they are prepared for launch and shouldn't have shortage issues.... which may be a too ambitious claim.

"badass" is the equivalent of "Ultra" or "Epic" settings; the highest amount of Quality available from the game.

Yeah, i just saw GamersNexus's video. Oy. Waiting an entire month after the announcement to release the product is kind of painful. They should really have them available a lot closer to the day they talk about it.

Haha, that will come back to bite them in the ass for sure. However, doesn't AMD only release their own cards first and you have to wait a bit for board partner cards? Maybe that's how they're going to play it. Demand for those should be lower, especially if they base sales figures off their past reference cards.

I have no doubt we'll hear the same "we had no idea demand would be this strong, but look at how many people want our cards!" Tweet from them.

considering that we've only seen leaks of the reference card design and no other OEM design, I also think that only reference will be available at launch and we will maybe see OEM cards at the start of the next year or something...

Yeah that's what I fear. I don't know why they'd do their launches like that. Seems rather greedy.

AMD is not trusting OEMs because of huge leaks. We basicaly know nothing of this launch and its so close that we typically have at least some definitive information around this time, but not this launch.
