  1. Are you still trying to get rid of that BYOC ticket? I have the 2 day pass but I was hoping to secure a BYOC pass.

  2. Eh, I'm cool with the situation. I should elaborate though. A really good friend of mine is having a kid in July, and I had the choice between seeing her (she's in North Carolina) or LTX. She's basically like my sister, and her SO is cool, so I'm headed there instead.
  3. Yes! All I need is a good e-mail address to send the dreamhack link to, and it's yours.
  4. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Armas_Ectos/saved/PrR299 You'll notice that there's no prices listed for the cooler or the video card. The cooler cost roughly $40 US new, and the video card is used (it came out of my main build and I recently replaced it with a RTX 2080). I was thinking between $850-$900 US. Minimum $800 US firm though.
  5. I appreciate it. I can still sell the HTPC, that'll help with the crap that's going on.
  6. Yeah, I purpose-built a HTPC to bring with me. I was going to sell it when I got back, but seeing as I'm not going...
  7. I just found out I'm not going to be able to go this year, as travel costs from Michigan and unfeasible at this time. I'm giving away my ticket, as I don't use Venmo/PayPal/etc. I'm okay with eating the cost, I just want to make sure someone that will be able to make it gets the ticket. Also, if you can bring a computer, you'll be able to! Get back to me here or on Twitter and we'll hash out the details. https://www.twitter.com/Armas_Ectos
  8. I'm coming from Michigan. Definitely flying out, but it might be cool to go in on an Air BnB for a night...
  9. There was a sponsor and I can't remember the name. They offer a service that generates random CC numbers for purchases or something like that. Help please! Thanks in advance!
  10. I'm in Michigan. Building a Mini ITX system just for the show, because driving across the continent is not an option. I'll probably buy a monitor once I get there.
  11. Perhaps. That's basically what this topic was for me, I saw it in my Google now feed on my phone. In all honesty though, it's more than just that. Most of the posts I've made on this forum end up with a lot of mocking and/or dismissive comments along with the constructive ones; that alone makes me not want to do much with this site. That said, I suppose there's no getting away from trolls.
  12. Fair enough. I've noticed that the same people constantly end up on the WAN Show as topic posters though. No one new in a long time. The fact that I don't have the time to spend every waking and sleeping moment finding and posting topics first is the reason I'll never be able to get there, and the reason I so rarely post here. The LTT forums aren't, apparently, worth my time.
  13. http://www.pcworld.com/article/3196080/data-center/intels-itanium-once-destined-to-replace-x86-in-pcs-hits-end-of-line.html Fare thee well, x64. You will be missed.
  14. Okay then. The general consensus is to wait for Zen, and I can't say I'm disappointed. Thanks for the input guys!
  15. Supporting a longstanding underdog like AMD is about the long game though, and I've always taken that stance; I think in terms of decades, not quarters or fiscal years. I'm more worried about their sustainability as a company. The more people that jump ship, the less likely they'll be around at some time in the future, and Intel has no other competitors in this space; at this point it's about keeping the industry competitive as well, which means AMD needs all the support they can muster. I have faith that they can develop chips to rival Intel's offerings, but they won't if the market demand isn't there. What can I, as one person do about all of this? Not much, but that won't stop me. I respect people that have differing views, I just ask for that same consideration. As for building better price to performance Intel rigs? I get that, because I also build PCs professionally; I build what my customers want, and most just want performance now. The common user doesn't think about the computing industry like I do. I've... had to come to terms with that. As long as I can do what I need to with the rigs I build for myself, I'm okay not having that better performance (for the reasoning stated above).
