  1. Considering used only, I don't play much but the couple games I do could use a slight improvement. I can spare 200 and the fans would cost about 40 for a 100 GPU hence why i was considering. A 6650 XT is 135% from a 1080 on the website you linked and seems good enough for my needs, especially daily driving Linux I could use an AMD for sure.
  2. I see the 6650 would be better than 3060 and they go for the same price, might as well... I was hoping the 3060 would do better at 1440p due to larger ram but it doesn't. Does the 6650 have comparable scaling tech?
  3. Temps are actually fine and was re-pasted not long ago, it just makes a horrible noise and vibrates wildly. Also can't really unplug the faulty one as it's the first in the daisy chain of 3 and that amount of vibration can't be good for the rest of the system. Thought about strapping a couple of 120mm to it but then I'd give up on selling it so I was thinking getting a cheap GPU like a 3060 mentioned above and fix it later with original fans if at all worth it.
  4. The 3060 would be within budget, I was looking into a 2070 Super or 2080 before noticing the power draw and the 3060 seems to be at a similar performance for less watts, thanks.
  5. The fans are been failing for the past 2 months, I don't think it's worth replacing as the fans aren't terribly cheap.
  6. Hi, I feel like my 1080 is about to go to a better place but have little budget for a meaningful replacement and even less for a new PSU. Is there anything better than a 1080 that will run on a 450w Bronze PSU? Specs in signature.
  7. I was shopping for a 5600 cooler myself and found the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 (tower) to have very good performance at less than half Noctua price.
  8. Great stuff! Got a Networking error in there, bad_module_info crit events and Flight Simulator with a Faulting Application Path. Maybe I'll just reinstall Windows and everything...
  9. One BSOD was the one I described, another one I found out was a corrupted Chrome extension. The games crash during normal gameplay at non specific events, Flight Simulator specifically is very predictable as every time it happens after 10-15min of gameplay, Death Stranding after about 20-30min. I started monitoring usage/temps and all seems fine.
  10. Can't remember right now, one of them mentioned something about kernel. Last time it happened was when playing DS3 and plugging in the BT controller via cable and it kept struggling to boot for a while but can't remember specific error.
  11. Hi, got a fairly recent build and since started developing issues in games that used to run well before. Games crush or freeze (occasionally BSOD) after about 10 minutes, most recent one tried is MS Flight Simulator and Death Stranding, DS3 does the same on top of stutters. OC'd or not. On W11 and everything is updated including Bios and GPU drivers, temps are normal and checks on drives returned zero errors. Specs in Sig and attaching Minidump file. Thanks! 122922-8640-01.zip
  12. Ended up replacing the ram and now both sticks work and apparently GPU issues are gone too. Weird one...at least I got a little upgrade from 2400mhz to 3000mhz and bought a 1070 as well which will give the PSU an easier time.
  13. Did the test with the "good" stick in the only slot in which it works and returned zero errors, the other stick won't boot in any slot but if I plug both in Memtest sees them but only 8GB available. Just got an 4GB stick to test with and works in all slots. How does the 8GB stick only work in one slot and yet have zero errors?
  14. Thanks you, forgot about that tool as the last time I needed to replace ram was for a 1MB module will try that in the morning.
