  1. Looks like it would make a kick ass home theater pc. That is how I would use it should I win it
  2. Keep in mind that Jobs got his start in UNIX with NeXTSTEP and the NeXT computer company that he founded after being forced out of Apple in the 80's. I believe that NeXTSTEP was a heavily modified version of the Berkeley BSD version of UNIX.
  3. I haven't tried feenix products before so this sounds like a good way to give them a try
  4. Here... to help you with the definition of "smartphone"; http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/smartphone I don't see it mentioning cpu or multitasking. And if that is your definition then the original iPhone wasn't a smartphone. The iPhones didn't start multitasking until the 4 was released.
  5. Ok... got it. You will limit the definition of a "smartphone" to what you want it to be thus making sure that you can prove you point. Sorry, a "dumb phone" was my Motorola StarTac phone. Made and received calls and that was about it.
  6. The iPhone was the world's first smartphone? Really? I remember using the BlackBerry Pearl in 2006... a year before the first iPhone was release. That was a pretty smart phone at the time
  7. Then perhaps you can talk to your father and develop an "additional chores" schedule to help "pay" for your computer. As a father who has purchased plenty of computers for his kids, being called a "dick" in a public forum for something he is giving you is a sure fire way to never see a computer component again.
  8. Instead of complaining about how much money your dad will GIVE you for a computer, how about you get a JOB and buy your own stinking computer.
  9. As soon as you noticed the problem you should have taken the system back to the company that did the work and have them fix the issue. Now that you have "worked on it" they can claim that you caused the problem and they are not liable. Also, if they are a reputable company they WANT to know if there was an issue and fix it and the underlying issue that caused the problem in the first place.
  10. 4 monitors... 3 lower and 1 upper.
  11. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6Y9BukEBI9c There ya go
  12. Personally I think it was a Windows update that broke my start menu. It all started happening after I installed an update on the 9th. When in the broken state no updates were available. I did the restore back to the point before it broke and that solved the problem.
  13. Welp, I did 3 out of 4 of his fixes and they didn't work for me. The only one I didn't try was the new user account. By the time I got to that point it was simpler to do a restore.
  14. Had the same issue... after a couple of days trying different "google" fixes that didn't help I simply did a restore from the time that it all started to go bad. It has worked fine since then but I've disabled the auto update on my system as I think it was an update that caused the problem.
  15. Probably want to throw a quick check in there to make sure that end is greater than start [emoji3]
