Hello everyone! I have a little problem. I am building myself a new rig based on the FX8320 and now I am looking for a video card. The options I have are either the GTX 660ti or the 7870 Tahiti LE edition. Both cost around 230€. Also should i buy a gpu now or wait for the 9000 series from AMD? My system specs AMD FX8320 @3.5GHz Asus M5A99X evo 2.0 8GB Kingston hyperX 1600MHz RAM XFX 550W PRO Samsung 830 128GB Thanks

Hello! I installed crystaldiskinfo to check it out and i noticed that i have written 1.99TB on my samsung 830 120GB ssd! I know SSDs have a maximum write limit. I want to know how much longer will my SSD last before i have to replace it. Is ~2TB of writes much? I also disabled the fast boot option of windows 8 ( I didn't needed it anyways) because i found out it was writing big amount of data every time i shut down my laptop. Also I would like to know if there are any tweaks i can make to reduce writes. Thanks!

Everyone be aware of eBay scam. They are most of the time people from nigeria. Post names and e-mail addresses of people that you got scammed from. They send you a fake PayPal message saying that in order for you to get your money you have to first give them the tracking number of the package which means that you first have to sent the package and then you will receive your money(realy?). I learned this the hard way and I want everyone to be really careful. Here are some of them 1) Name: Melvin Flora e-mail: melvinflora072@yahoo.com 2) Name: John Olayiwola e-mail: johnolayiwola02@gmail.com

AMD FX 8350 build and future proofing

I was just reading reviews from this PSU and people seem to be happy with it and thats the best I can get so i will stick with it I already have a Samsung 830 128GB SSD and a 500GB 2.5" HDD so storage is not a problem here and i dont use an optical drive I still belive that the 8 core cpu will be better than the 6 core cpu in some years(as TechFan@ic says) so thats why i want an 8 core now so that it will last at least 2-3 years before i need to update it(and if I update it will most probably be steamroller) Also a lot of people suggest an NZXT or a Zalamn cooler so i will see which one i can get cheaper ^_^ -
AMD FX 8350 build and future proofing
Andrew48 replied to Andrew48's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
As i said on my first post i want this system to last some years without updates. My laptop(that i sold to build a desktop) had an I7 2630QM which really helped me in video/audio conversion and rendering videos but the graphics card was horrible. Now that new games initialize up to 8 cores i think it is a good investment for the future. Correct me if i am wrong ;) I was thinking about that but i want a gaming pc so bad  -

Isn't the XFX 650W Core PSU made by seasonic? My other choice is the corsair TX650 V2. XFX or Corsair? -

Thanks for the suggestion but wont i have less overclocking headroom with the 8320 than with the 8350? Will I be able to get the 8320 at 4.4 - 4.5 Ghz easily without adding to much voltage? I don't want to have heat problems especial now that summer is near.( I have never used an AMD chip so i don't know their max voltage/temp) -
Hi! I am new here and i just sold my laptop to buy myself a gaming desktop. My budget is about 800-850 euros and this is what i am thinking of buying: AMD FX 8350 Gigabyte GA 990FX UD3 Rev 3.0 Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz Powercolor Radeon HD 7870 Myst edition XFX 650W Core Edition Corsair Carbide 300R Also i need to buy a monitor which means -110 euros for the rig itself. I want this build to last a couple of years and i may watercool it when i get some more money to overclock that cpu and gpu to get more performance in the near feature. What do you people think? Is this a good selection of components? should i change something? Please let me know! Thanks.
