  1. So I would need a GPU in order to do this, to be fair, 4k is really a priority right now but it would be nice to have, I but I would really like stable transcoding, and I feel the CPU isn't doing a good job with that.
  2. It's a transcoding issue, I would like to be able to have more people watching and be able to stream a decent 4k connection. But I don't want to spend too much, but if need be I will. I. The CPU is at 100% alot of the time, even when theirs not movie streaming from it and I cleaned out alot of dust from it recently.
  3. So basically I built this server in 2016, and other then replacing one of the red servers, I would like to stream 4k content to a couple roku tvs I have around the house. I was just curious what I should upgrade. I would like to keep the motherboard and maybe upgrade the cpu to probably a xeon processor, but if there's a better solution, I would be down with it. I'm running Windows 10 on it, and can access it via tightvnc. 4. I'll check it out at some point but I don't know why it's not doing it before since it worked both times before.
  5. I'll try anything at this, is there a procedure on cloning her os drive to the new drive and making it a uefi installation?
  6. Is It free? I think her installation was UEFI based, it's been a while, is there a way to find out? And that's the thing, I tried 3 or 4 times doing this process, and it's weird since I did before with my and my mom's computer, but this doesn't work. It's really bugging me.
  7. It shows both drives and I'm able to see them in diskpart and file explorer, but in msconfig under the boot tab, I only see "Windows 10 (C:\WINDOWS) : Current OS; Default OS.". In the boot order, both drives are seen.
  8. So I'm trying to clean my wife's ssd to a bigger drive since she is running out of space, so I decided to go with Macrium Reflect Free Version. I used it before on my computer to be able do the same thing only it was a m.2 I was upgrading too. So I do the same procedure as I did before but for some reason, I keep getting a start up error that Windows 10 produces and idk why I'm getting it. I'll go through the steps I take below. 1. I installed the program, and I attached my new ssd to my machine of course. The 1st is the main drive (old ssd). The 2nd is my HDD with games installed on it only, and the 3rd is the new SSD. 2. I click on clone this disk, to get a new window 3. I then drag both partitions down to the new ssd. The 1st then the 2nd. I then selected 2 and clicked float right then selected 1 and clicked on fill space, so that I gain the extra room on the ssd. 4. I then select next then finish and let the cloning process start which will take a while. Then I checked my hard drive and it's completely cloned over to the new drive. So this is the part where it gets complicated. I turned my computer, and then to check if it boots up, I selected the new drive (kingston) and it looks like it booted up just fine. So I decided to detach the old drive, and see if it'll boot up. I even went to the bios to see if it would boot up from that drive first. The weird thing is that I had "Boot up from UEFI" or Kingston, which I found strange. So I boot it up and it gives me a start up error. I'm baffled by this and would like some help trying to solve it. I included images to help as well including the system specs.
  9. Maybe, I just hope it's tall enough cause not only I have to deal with the size of the monitor screen and stand, but also the desk stand as well.
  10. So I currently have a 32 inch 4k lg monitor as my main primary monitor and next to it is a dell vertical monitor similar to this. It's on a desk that I got from staples. I was just curious what monitor mounts you would recommend if I wanted to put one on the top above my 32 in. I don't trust the wall behind, as I don't see any studs to be able to mount wall ones and that's the last thing I want to do.
  11. By this point, I proxy my footage in that manner too. I think by this point I might as well get a threadripper processor in the future so it can handle 4k footage in the future. I was just curious as to the issue.
  12. - I'm editing 4k footage from either Canon R5's or R6's (Mostly for commercial real estate or company promo's) - Yes, I use Premiere Pro to Edit, After Effects for Compositing and Motion Graphics, and Audition for sound - It's a fast processor but I was just wondering how it compared to my 3600x since they relatively released closer to each other - I usually have chrome open and some things open in my but they barely make a blimp. I have 32 gigs of Trident Z, so I feel like that should help.
  13. So I edit videos for my company using an M1 laptop, and recently I started to work at home on my W10. I was curious why some aspects of my PC are slower then the M1 when it comes to video editing, even when it comes to proxying my footage. I feel it must because of drives being scanned, even though I'm not using those drives for anything else, but it's just strange to me that it needs to do that. I run Adobe to edit most of my things. 14. So I put windows 7 on another usb using that same tool, and i'm pretty sure that the bios is in sata mode (I think it comes like that in default anyways). I'll definitely use that link there for the amd drivers. The thing is do I put the zip file or all the extracted files into a folder on my usb, cause I did that with the msi drivers in the link you sent me, but wouldn't load under the boot x directory (zipped or in a folder). Note: I tried disconnecting my hard drives (1 sata tb for games, 1 ssd for os), and just plugging in the ssd into sata port 1, and now I'm not getting anything displayed on my monitor.
  15. Also I don't know if this will work since I have an amd processor? http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN234568/EN
