  1. The title says it all. I'm going to buy a MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4g version and I wonder if it will fit my Coolermaster HAF 912 Combat case? It's the version with the transparent side panel. Will I have to remove the HDD case and move the drives down?
  2. Yeah I have the GTX 980 in mind...but I'd probably take it at the same time as the new LG Monitor. For about a month, it'll run on the Intel HD Graphics alone... I'm taking the Core i7-4790k with HD Graphics 4600. I have decided to avoid the complication and go for the HP 23FI monitor...it's got a single HDMI port and costs just a little more than the W2371d at my local store. A big thanks anyway, mate!
  3. Please, anyone with the info please answer.
  4. Hey so I'm taking a new MSI Z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard for my new PC, and I'm gonna use a temporary monitor (the HP W2371d) while I wait for my LG MP75 to arrive. So I'm confused if this motherboard can support VGA or DVI ? The HP monitor has both of them. So will it support them out of the box or do need to get some sort of adapter?
  5. Hey guys I'm in the final stage of finalizing my build and was lacking a good opinion on the monitor...so I have two viable options - LG 27MP75HM/HM-P (IPS) BenQ GW2760HS (VA) Which one should I go for? Also can anyone explain the difference between HM and HM-P in the LG monitors? The reason why I leaned toward LG was because of the IPS panel and the very thin bezel (about 10mm), which overall gives the monitor a sleek look. Both are 27", 1920x1080, and are pretty economic (both around 20,000-25,000 INR). Also, are there any other monitors from companies such as Asus or Dell, at 27 inches, in this price range (in USD)? And any opinion on the LG 27EA63V-P would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  6. Hey I was on to buying an LG monitor for gaming purposes...I need nothing less than 27 inches and an IPS panel, response time doesn't matter though...and I came down to the 27MP75 models. There are two models 27MP75HM and 27MP75HM-P I can't understand the difference between these two models? What does the P stand for? Which is better? Please advice. Edit: Or by chance, are they are same thing?
  7. I do not want to SLI...as i think it would overcomplicate stuff (regarding cooling etc.) and I'd also have to change the case (K380 already has cramped interior). Yes I did consider single 970 but dropped out from that idea after the 3.5Gb VRAM problem. I don't know if they'll fix it or not.
  8. The place where I live, temps go up to as much as 40-45 degrees Celsius in the summer. Should I consider any other case in that price range?
  9. Yeah...I guess that should be wise. I'd be getting the GPU only after February anyway.
  10. Yeah, I know the 980 doesn't have the problem. So if I can afford a 980, go for it?
  11. Hey guys...so I was on to building my first real gaming rig (had a HP Compaq 6200 system with i3 processor before this) and almost everything was sorted out...I was gonna get the much-recommended GTX 970 from MSI. Then a bomb was dropped : the 3.5Gb memory problem. That was such a turn-off for me so I decided to get a new system first, then add the GPU later, so that I can save up enough to go for the monster MSI GTX 980. The second bomb was dropped on me just a few hours ago : AMD cuts prices across it's GPU lineup to cash in on the GTX 970 problem. Saw their "4GB MEANS 4GB" tag line as well...hee hee. Now here's the question : I'm not really sure if the price drop among AMD cards (especially the R9 290X) will reach markets outside of the US (where I live), and if it does, when. But I'd be sure to grab the 290X if the price cut is too steep. Now I'm not the kind of person who keeps changing their hardware every year (I need my setup to stay relevant for atleast the next 2-3 years) so I'm willing to go for the GTX 980 if it really offers performance much better than 290X. But if it's not worth it (in light of price cuts), I'd go for the 290X. So here's where I need some advice. As I said, I planned for the 980 and I've got enough cash for that...but only if it's worth that extra over the 290X ?? Would I be wise to go after 980 as a longterm solution or would the 290X really be enough? -- Here are the other stuff I planned out for my PC : Intel Core i7-4790K processor MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard Cooler Master K380 case Western Digital Black 2TB SATA HDD Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD Asus DRW-24D3ST optical drive Antec VP650P SMPS (650 watts) Corsair H80i processor cooler (liquid) Cooler Master SickleFlow X 120mm air cooling fans ( x3 - 2 in, 1 out) Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3-1866 DRAM LG 27MP75H-M 27" LED-backlit monitor (IPS panel) 1080p 1000va UPS And also...would the higher power consumption of the 290X require me to change my PSU to something better? Like a 750W or something?
  12. I live over in India...but to make things easier to count, the LG monitor I mentioned costs $250 in the US, I'm willing to stretch my budget for monitor to ₹3,000 more, over & above what that monitor costs here...so if you could suggest something in the $300 range I guess that should make sense for me. You can go up to monitors in the $400 range maximum. Anything higher and I'd have to wait a couple more months for allowance, which I can't. I know a rough conversion isn't all that accurate, but if you can suggest a model, I can make the calculations with my local online dealer or showroom.
  13. Any good 1440p 27" monitor at this price range?
  14. Sadly there is no 1440p that fits my budget (and i need to get this rig ready by February-end at maximum). Let me know if there is one at around the same price as these two monitors. Where does the refresh rate actually come into play? Will it affect my FPS during gameplay? As far as the connector goes, I guess i should be okay with a DVI (if i don't have a choice) or should I really look for HDMI specifically?
  15. Hey so I'm looking to finish up my (pretty-much high end) gaming rig setup by choosing just the right monitor...i'm not going to drop below 27" and 1080p and I've two good-looking monitors in mind for purchase... Samsung LS27D390HS/XL LG 27MP35HQ The LG has an IPS panel while the Samsung is a PLS panel (which I think is a pumped-up IPS, correct me if I'm wrong). The LG's got a 5,000,000 to 1 Contrast ratio while the Samsung has a 1000 to 1...I know you can't come to a conclusion with these figures because the LG's isn't probably the True ratio. Still if you've got the info, let me know which one displays the better picture. Both have a response time of 5ms which is very good and as far as I know...it shouldn't pose any issues with ghosting or otherwise. LG is known to have a HDMI port while I can't find the connector info about the Samsung - HDMI or DVI? Do they come along with the monitor? One area where I'm lost is the refresh rates (not even sure if that's the correct term)...Samsung has 60Hz and I don't know about the LG. Is that good enough for high-end gaming with my MSI GTX980 (Gaming 4g) card, 16GB DRAM, MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard and 4th gen i7 OC-unlocked processor? I would be playing almost all the latest, high-requirements games including BF4, GTA 5, The Division, Witcher 3 etc. Please, provide any information you think could be helpful to let me choose which monitor to take. I personally have my heart on the Samsung but I'm not taking any chances and decided to consult the experts.
