Nothing really would happen unless it's a bad psu. The number on your psu is the maximum watts it can go up to, won't always stay there.

The Trump presidency has done nothing to change the entry requirements of either China or Hong Kong(it isn't even capable of it as Trump was not elected to rule China), it is very unlikely that they will change in the future unless something really goes wrong.

The thing with traveling is you must travel light. When I backpacked it through europe I saw so many travelers with big heavy bags that rolled on wheels. I'd say about 60L backpack is good for long stints, one with lots of pockets. Use a garbage bag for dirty clothing. Whatever you buy send back home in the mail. For accomodations, hostels are the best way to go. Buy a travel book, make a plan and rip out the pages you wont be using.

I should first disclaim that I have lived in Japan for half a year, but it was about 20 years ago and I haven't been back since. I might be out of date on some things.

There is a chain store called Animate and you can find them pretty much everywhere. They do all sorts of merchandise. Manga stores are also pretty much everywhere.

If there are certain games/anime you like, it is worth checking if there are places of interest. For example, there's the ghibli museum, and pokemon centres. There are various themed cafes also. Akihabara is still a significant location and worth a visit if you are in Tokyo area.

The spacing is a bit odd there, but to clarify, are you only talking about not speaking on phones on public transport, or more in general? They didn't exist while was there, but I do understand it is not the done thing to talk on a phone on public transport.
Medical equipment on a person would be designed to cope with day to day activities including mobile phone usage in close proximity. This is NOT the reason to not use it.

I missed the quote on speaking English... in my experience most wont have any useful speaking level. I didn't find Japan any more difficult to live in than other places I didn't know the language. It can help to learn some basic words and phrases before going.

I suggest to read this exact Quora answer(link below) and read other answers to the same question, the answers have been given by people that moved to Japan, went on holiday or anything like that. it are a total of 28 answers, each with their own story. the one that I linked is the best rated answer by viewers.
since each answer has different tips I suggest to read them all, I picked the most convenient once to link with most general/all-round information, but there is certainly more!

I actually had a pleasant experience with United when I flew to Germany a couple years ago. I wouldn't say to avoid them, but there's definitely better airlines out there. I would be wary of Chinese airlines though. I have not read good experiences about them...

A few things that I learned a few years back when I took Japanese in school...

'Douzo yoroshiku onegaishimasu' - It was nice to meet you.
'Ogenki desu ka' - How are you?
    'Genki desu' - I'm fine.
    'Anata wa?' - And you?
'Ohayou' (More casual/informal) or 'Ohayou gozaimasu' (More formal) - Good morning.
    'Konnichiwa' - Hello.
    'Konbanwa' - Good Evening.
    'Sayounara' - Goodbye.
'Ja ne' or 'Mata ne' - See you later.
'Doumo arigatou gozaimasu' - Thank you very much.
    'Arigatou gozaimasu' - Thank you.
    'Doumo' or 'Arigatou' - Thanks.
    'Douitashimashite' - You're welcome.
    'Tondemonai' - No problem.
'Sumimasen' (Formal) or 'Gomen nasai' (Informal) - Excuse me.

Those were just some of the first few things we learned in the class, it's been a few years since I last was in the class, so I'm not likely going to be of much help on more stuff.

Something to note, Japanese Kanji uses the same letters as Hanzi, so those will be familiar, however they're spoken differently, and meanings are often different as well. Then Japanese also has Hiragana and Katakana to throw into the alphabet mix as well.

    Good luck!

FinestRyeBread reacted to VerticalDiscussions in GTX 1080 mistake?
Woah, hold your horses. A GTX 1080 is infinitely times better than the HD 7850, 650 Ti and much better than the 980, 390X or the 1070 (small improvements over the 1070, but quite noticeable) overhaul. Also, showing the temperature would be useful :p. Perhaps, if overclocking is well placed and the cards are running at a steady temperature, getting a replacement is the best idea.
