Missioncode got a reaction from Mbarton in Router, modems and switches.
but if he is transfering files on the switch or doing LANs on the switch then the gigabit switch would help out. I also just got a huge 48 port switch off ebay. Won it for .99 was like $23 (USD) with shipping.

Easy as pi
hook your router up like normal then take a short ethernet cable and hook the switch up. You will be able to do everything like normal Internet, send files etc.
I do this when I have lan parties. I keep the router where it is and run a cable to the room. Once in the room I hook it up to a 8-port switch to let everyone hook up. People can send files to and from my server hooked up to the router.

Missioncode got a reaction from whatthe_fuzz in Can anybody find a amd 9 series mobo on microcenter website at all?

Missioncode reacted to airdeano in CPU without graphics
this is false. back in the ol' days of sandy bridge, the i5-2500k was "re-binned" and
some of the CPUs had the GPU disabled turning them into i5-2550k processors sans
the onboard graphics. the price was actually higher (gotta love Intel "green" position).
the only real way of non-GPU onboard on the Intel camp it the X79 platform. most, if
not all current 1150 CPU are onboard graphics capable.
other current platforms would be the FX from AMD.

Missioncode got a reaction from TechFan@ic in PC Upgrade "kit"?
kit two but with a 8320 its so much cheaper and turbo clock is only 0.2Ghz away. and most of the time when you need the horse power is when turbo clock kicks in.

Missioncode reacted to Art Vandelay in Not sure what to do with $50 Bestbuy gift card (CANADA)
Use it as a book mark.
As long as you don't have too much stamina, that should be enough.

Missioncode got a reaction from flibberdipper in What PSU from that both ?
Yea from what it looks like the stock 770 can use up to 225Watts and more so a lighting is going to use more than that (Where I got those numbers http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-770-gk104-review,3519-25.html)
With only 20A on the 12 rail you are getting ~240 Watts So if you split up the power connectors to the 770 to be on different 12V rails you should be good.

They are more or less the same I would go with Asus as personally I've only seen them and they look really nice.

Missioncode reacted to WoodenMarker in New 2560x1440 monitor or another 7950?
1440p display and don't expect to play games at high settings. Settle for lower. It'll look better than a lower resolution with high settings anyway.
