Hi guys,
I'm in college at the moment and I don't have a lot of money to spend on a nice rig, so I upgraded from a Lenovo T420 Core i5 to a HP Pavilion DV7 Core i7 (2nd Gen).
The thing is, I use this for edting film (i'm in cinema studies) and to game, and I'd like to max out this laptop.
These are the specs:
CPU: i7-2670QM @2.20GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon 6700M Series (2Gbs)
SSD: ADATA SP900 128Gbs
SSHD: Seagate 500Gbs (5400rpm)
RAM: 8Gbs DDR3 1333MHz
I was wondering, can this laptop take 16Gbs of RAM? And if so, what speed should I get?
And since I need a lot of space for the back-ups but also for gaming, should I replace the 500Gb SSHD for a 1Tb SSHD + 2Tb WD MyPassport, or should I just buy a 4~6Tb WD (Green or Caviar or Red) and set it up in an external case?
Thank you.
