  1. I did that the other day and it said it could go up to 16 Gigs DDR3 1866 MHZ, but i've seen in some other places saying the max speed it can take is 1600MHz. I'm confused, Anyway, thanks for the help.
  2. Hi guys, I'm in college at the moment and I don't have a lot of money to spend on a nice rig, so I upgraded from a Lenovo T420 Core i5 to a HP Pavilion DV7 Core i7 (2nd Gen). The thing is, I use this for edting film (i'm in cinema studies) and to game, and I'd like to max out this laptop. These are the specs: CPU: i7-2670QM @2.20GHz GPU: AMD Radeon 6700M Series (2Gbs) SSD: ADATA SP900 128Gbs SSHD: Seagate 500Gbs (5400rpm) RAM: 8Gbs DDR3 1333MHz I was wondering, can this laptop take 16Gbs of RAM? And if so, what speed should I get? And since I need a lot of space for the back-ups but also for gaming, should I replace the 500Gb SSHD for a 1Tb SSHD + 2Tb WD MyPassport, or should I just buy a 4~6Tb WD (Green or Caviar or Red) and set it up in an external case? Thank you.
