  1. I've been watching Linus since 2015, and I have invested many hours into their content. But at this point, I am not sure how some fans of LTT still defend LTT after numerous controversies in past 12-24 months: * Backpack saga, which was handled poorly (trust me bro hehe, that's aint gonna fly) * That reddit thread which was previously posted. If, and I say IF, what the OP claims was true and LTT was involved in nuking that kids channel, then it's a bad look and I am telling it lightly * Linus's opinion on Unionization. I'm sorry, but unions in NA are must have and if he thinks they serve no purpose then it shows more about Linus than unions as a whole. Someone already summarized my thoughts about this so I am not gon repeat that. * Treatment of ASUS on Secret Shopper thing. Like, it's a bad look when you let ASUS go lightly and at the same time they are your main LTX sponsor. * And now GN video about Billet situation and whole QC thing. I am sorry but half assed apology that was posted many pages ago won't do justice. I am not even sure what can be done at this point, especially after the "Apology" written in forum instead of social media. I'll probably watch the videos that interest me, but sponsorblock and ublock plugins will be enabled from now on and probably will skip majority of videos. It's been evident that in past 12 months all the videos have been half-arsed and actual production value has been lower than it used to be. Therefore I can't really trust your judgment on products. Hopefully this gets resolved, but damage has been done.
  2. You must be trolling, otherwise all I can say is you're uneducated. Sports car, or any car in that matter, is not a danger to society. It's the drivers that are. As for track mode, it's just a mode with different ECU configuration, which is tuned specifically for race track use.
  3. I'm not that much worried about power consumption but I wouldn't want to have another pc that consumes as much as my gaming pc right now. I'll be honest? I haven't looked into RPI vs Thin client vs old office pc power consumption. Thin clients are viable option, that much I agree. As I said in one of my previous comments, I am planning to move from RPI 4B to thin client. But I'm not sure what to look and what would be a decent enough to host same things I do on RPI and more.
  4. They are, but you need to count in the fact that RPi's are much more power-efficient than old office PC and they are somewhat easier to set up. I am currently using Pi 4B as a light home server, but I want to move on to thin client eventually. Haven't done that yet because thin clients are not exactly dirt cheap either.
  5. You can say the same thing about US a-holes review bombing EU stores. People are not happy with expensive shipping to EU, and rightfully so. It seems that LTT didn't aknowledge their EU customers and left them hanging out to dry.
  6. Reading this and previous series topic, it seems that 99,9% of the users have completely missed the point of the series. Yes, average user is that stupid! Average Joe will never, ever have a thought about checking github, looking for command line or even performing basic linux commands.Average Joe will act as if Linux is something similar to MacOS or Windows, and try to replicate their knowledge in Linux and fail spectacularly. I know some things about Linux by working with my Raspberry Pi, but even then I consider myself as a lamer and non-advanced user in linux. But even some things like that Pop_OS bug makes me question how really Linux is newb-friendly. Someone pointed out, that a lot of users suffer from "curse of knowledge". Even I do, at work. I consider some things no-brainers but average use thinks it's something very advanced and needs guidance. Same happens here - something that is a second nature for advanced user, is something really advanced for a new user. I just wanna see how the series develop. Right now, series is alright and somewhat replicate the experience I had 7-8 years ago when I discovered Linux. As for myself - I still can't bring myself to use linux, even if I am learning Python right now for work. I just can't, it's easier for me to go to Windows and do that stuff on that.
  7. A lot of people have already summarized my thoughts about the video, and the Linux as a whole in general. My main takeaway is that Linux is very good for either server purposes (my RPi server just works, and I am a complete idiot in Linux) or for very niche userbase that's either very comfortable with Terminal and doing things their own way. For a general user like me, you or Average Joe - Linux is a no go. And as previously mentioned - Linux community is not helpful either. Instead of actually replying to a question, there's 2-3 page discussion about why Linus was wrong and how he shoul'dve RTFM. That drives people away.
  8. IMO Linux is great for servers. I'm going through that right now with my Raspberry Pi. I am setting up a simple NAS server with OMV and Docker with few Docker images such as Plex and others. You set it up with a hard drive, and let it live and it's gonna do great. On desktops, it's a whole other story. I've hopped between distros and really tried to get into them and use them daily but I just can't because it's not very intuitive for a regular person. I can get around things because I work at IT and my hobby is to tinker with stuff, but for a regular Joe or Jill it's not a great experience, espscially if they want to print a document or make an excel sheet.
  9. 'Depends on the mood, but usually it's Hip Hop and/or Electronic music.
  10. Hello peeps! I am looking for new headphones for around 100 euros. I currently have Kingston HyperX Cloud 1's ,and they are slowly falling apart. I mainly use headphones for Youtube, Music and occasional gaming session from time to time. That's all I do on PC these days. I wanted to ask, what would be the best option right now? I am currently looking and Sennheiser HD559's but I am not sure how good they are.
  11. I really love Gran Turismo way too much to consider Xbox. And I feel guilty about it.... just a little bit.
  12. Alright, it seems that the only logical solution is to go Ubuntu route and just modify it a little bit (like another user did) and make it look like Mac so it looks how I like. Thank you for your answer!
  13. Sorry for offtopic, but form what I read, Fedora might be a good starter point for a beginner? Background: I've used Linux in past and used Xubuntu, Mint XFCE, Ubuntu and maybe something else. Used mainly for web browsing, but right now I am looking for Linux distro because I am learning to program (Python) and I want to find an easy-to-use Linux distro.
  14. From what I've seen, some B450 motherboards can do overclocking. If B550 can do it, then I have no problem of switching platforms with option to upgrade later on in future
  15. I am aware of MB change, and I am counting on it. My main question was ,is Ryzen 3 3300X a worthy upgrade. Thanks for your answer!
  16. Hello! I am decided to upgrade my PC since its been running for 4 years straight with the same hardware. I already upgraded the RAM, and the only logical step is to change CPU. Here are my current PC Specs: Asus B150 motherboard I5-6500 CPU 16GB of DDR4 Ram(3200mhz, but limited to 2400mhz) Sapphire Radeon RX480 8GB OC+ SP NVME Drive My main question is - is Ryzen 3 3300X a good upgrade from current CPU? How much of an FPS gain I might get in, for example, CSGO and Assetto Corsa Competizione?
  17. Can I ask you why it's not a good idea to make Pi as a small home-user NAS? Because when I wanted to make NAS out of old PC i have laying around (4GB DDR2, Q8300 with old ass 400W PSU), I came to conclusion it's more reasonable to buy RPi, install OMV and connect it with whatever Hard drive I can find.
  18. Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I have a same idea as OP has - make an Raspberry Pi 3 NAS. My idea is to buy RPi, pair it with 320GB laptop drive(temporarily) and put an OMV to make it as a NAS. I wanna make that NAS mainly to store DLSR Images(RAW/JPEGS), movies, other pictures, music, tv series and other useless stuff. I stored all of that on my gaming rig and it's a bit painful for me. Is this a good enough option? is there any alternatives? I want a cheap and efficient system since electricty is not very cheap where I live.
  19. This might be a newby question, but I didn't had a need for this except it came up just now.I need additional storage for movies, tv series, RAW and JPEG images and other stuff. For that, I have two options now: Buy an 1TB external drive and plug it in my PC, and unplug if I need to transfer data to another PC Buy a Raspberry Pi 3, Seagate NAS drive, pair it together and run it as a NAS machine and attach additional storage later. Which option would be better? I would really like an option to access my storage from various devices without wires. I am aware about WD MyPassport Wireless drives but they are just too expensive for me.
  20. Is Fiio E10K a good budget DAC/AMP for PC? I am gonna run Superlux HD668B and probably something better if I decide to upgrade down the road.
  21. Hello. I decided to upgrade for a new monitor. I am using it for all around use - gaming, media, Adobe Lightroom from time to time, and everything else. I have two options - Dell SE2171(27 inch) or Samsung S24F350H.(24 inch) Both are Full HD, both are IPS LED panels, both have Freesync(I have AMD GPU) and 75 hz refresh rate. I have been struggling to choose because one is a lot cheaper(Samsung) and other is bigger, which is helpful for Lightroom(Dell). Guys, which one should I choose? 24" which costs like 130 euros or 27" which costs 170 euros?
  22. Then pretty much you're decided. Choose one or the other, depends on how big screen you want. Latitude are very good laptops and if you want Dell, that's fine.
  23. Probably a troll. But yeah, If you want a 12" notebook - you need to sacrifice some things like gaming, high-res display and beefy GPU. Since I have a decent desktop PC for games and Lightroom, ThinkPad does everything I need from laptop - MS Office, web browsing and general consuming.
  24. If you are searching for a 12.5" inch laptop, you really only have 3 choices here - Lenovo ThinkPad X series, Dell Latitude and HP EliteBook series. I would personally advise you to go for Lenovo Thinkpad X series because of their price, they are really strong and rigid, great Linux support, parts are relatively cheap and easy to replace. I had Thinkpad X201 few years ago, and it died because of my own stupidity. Few days ago I bought refurbished Thinkpad X220 for university and it's a great laptop, gonna upgrade it soon with msata SSD and extra ram. If you don't like the looks of Thinkpads. This guy - @Icuw1pc , convinced me few years back to go for Thinkpads and I have stayed since. I think he can help you and tell you all about Thinkpads.
  25. Oh wow. I knew that I am bad, and I have read about that, Speedhunter articles aswell. It's just a matter of practice, nobody's born a pro.
