I removed the CMOS battery and placed it back in, nothing. Then I thought I maybe installed the i7 wrong so I removed it and then placed that back in. Now it works. Not sure what I did wrong before. All is good now.

Never been my thing, but I see others that walk the parks with binoculars and large lens camera's. Plus I knew a guy who was kind of strange and a bit younger then me, say 30 to 35 who was into birds and photography. It really comes down to how many frames your card is getting. Higher fps requires more cpu horspower. For example, if you are using 1080p 144hz you want an i7.

Ok, i figured it out, i had to click the anolog stick on the side of the monitor. The freesync was already off, I turned it on and i see no difference on a 144hz monitor. Is freesync pointless at 144hz? the only difference is maybe the slightest input lag.

If you're not going to overclock then it doesn't matter. But between the two they trade blows, completely depends on what you're going to be doing with them. I'd just get the one that's cheapest since you're not going to overclock.

Godrays only help you in areas with heavy fog. Shadow distance set to medium is the same setting as the Xbox One and PS4. If your brother plays mostly Fallout 4 and I can say this because it's the reason I switched from AMD to Nvidia. Pick up a cheap used 980ti while the prices are in the basement. I've run a 390 and a 980ti in Fallout 4, it's worth the switch if that's the game you play the most.

When your frame rate varies enough that you can't guarantee it'll match up with the refresh rate, and some people don't want to reduce settings to guarantee that.

Sounds like nvidia rushed their launch out to get the jump on AMD but doesn't actually have enough cards to meet demand. Classic shady marketing.

no way dude, its crazy too that many people are selling thier 980 ti to upgrade to 1080, wait for at least the 1080ti. i got my 980ti for $350 off craigslist so im just gonna buy another one and wait until the freaking gtx 1280ti comes out lmao
 
but i understand if you want the latest and greatest and if you have a way go for it but from what i seen its around 10-20 fps faster at 1080p and imo thats not worth it
