3570k vs 8350 live streaming
Ultimate_PIMP replied to DjArtifact's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
You're right, the 8350 s not a real 8 core processor. But it's not 8 baby cores like you said. The 8350 has 4 physical cores, and 4 "logical" cores. Basically. Each of the 4 amd cores are taking on 2 tasks at the same time, making it act like an 8 core chip. I'm pretty sure it's called hyperthreading? But none the less. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT Sorry i didn't read your whole comment, you basically said it right. -
3570k vs 8350 live streaming
Ultimate_PIMP replied to DjArtifact's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
*Sigh* Your raging on Tek syndikate just because of their test between the 8350 and the 3570k, right? Well, if you are,Thats retarted. They got practically the same results as linus, from what i can remember. -
Yah, i wouldnt get a pentium. You'd be better off going with an amd APU if your gaming. The processing power isnt that great when compared too modern cpu's, but they're a heck of a lot better than a pentium. Especially the new richland apu's. In case it helps, I have an fx-6300 and despite what anyone else says, its pretty quick. Especially if you overclock it.

Apple announces new Mac Pro + Thunderbolt 2
Ultimate_PIMP replied to Firstnecron's topic in Tech News
Its completely functional. What do you define as funtional? Its got the latest Xeon-e processor with pcie SSD's, and like 100 thunderbolt ports on the back for even more expand ability. Not to mention two amd Fire pro cards in it. Its a stinkin monster when it comes to what people use it for. Film making, game making, animation, ect. And it's very impressive that they were able to fit it all in such a small form factor. I guess people just love to hate apple.- 40 replies

Nope, all of what you said is wrong. If you go to the mac pro tab on apple.com it says pretty clearly that you can change those things.- 40 replies

Well if it costs $700 or so I think it will definitely WHOOP the 4770k. AMD's not greedy. They give away tons of free games with their gpu's, and they are always lowering the prices of their cpu's. Their price to performance ratio's are really good. So if its priced as high as everyone is saying it will be, my bet is it will be much better performing than a 4770k.

Depends on what you call good. If you wanna play all the latest games, the pentium will be able to do it with a good enough gpu. But we are entering a new gaming generation so that might not be the case in a few weeks. seeing as the Pentium is only a dual core, and has pretty low performance even when compared to an i3.

Free Upgrade from Sandybridge to Haswell?
Ultimate_PIMP replied to Seijuro808's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Yah, i think its worth it to upgrade. Ivy bridge is 10% faster than sandy bridge, and Haswell is 10 percent faster than Ivy bridge. So by upgrading you would be getting a 20% performance boost by default. Who knows how much more after overclocking. -
I currently have an fx-6300 overclocked to 4.5 ghz. It's pretty quick when overclocked, but nonetheless i just wanna upgrade. I wanted to see if it was worth getting the 3570k rather than the 4770k. I really want to get an fx-8350 (Because i love AMD's vibe) But the super sexy asus tuf motherboard is only for intel.

I did hear from tek syndicate that they are incredibly stable at incredibly high temps (80-90 degrees). I'll probably just upgrade to Haswell seeing as i already have an h100i.

Herro Everyone! I was looking to upgrade to a Haswell i7 4770k, but after getting news that they don't overclock very well (Get really hot) i was wondering if you could overclock an ivy bridge i7 3770k to match or surpass an overclocked 4770k. Currently i have an h100i so i wouldn't need to spend money on a cooler. What do you guys think? keep in mind that if i buy a haswell chip I will still be overclocking. I just wanna know if you guys think you can overclock an ivy bridge i7, so that it gives more performance than an overclocked haswell i7. If there is already a thread about this i apologize, i couldn't find it.

It's good to finely see people who don't want the start button. Its just close minded people that don't want to learn anything new raging. I think windows 8 is way sexier than 7.
