    New mouse for big hands

I mean I am a old FPS player so I am used to that more classic shape and I am more comfortable using such a shape. I wouldn't really say that any of my mice have ever require clamping outside of when I lift it. I have never liked the mice with a lot of buttons or weird shapes and the ones with pinky rest and such have always just felt weird to me.

ah I didn't know that they came out with a new version, thanks for the suggestion. I don't see myself using a mouse with that support for the fingers on the side, but thanks for the suggestion

    New mouse for big hands

Hi so my trusty old Zowie EC1A mousewheel isn't working all the time anymore, so I was wondering if there are any new mice on the market that fit a big hand well. I am like 85-90% palm and 10-15% claw. I prefer a simple mouse with a good sensor, so none of those mice with lots of buttons. I know that the Rivel mice don't fit me that well, especially the rival 300 because of the wide back end. Requirements Good sensor light weight 100g and less only back and forth as extra buttons suitable for big hands (It needs to be EC1A size or bigger) $100 or less

What do you use for your desk setup?

My desk setup for both work and fun is: RME ADI 2 DAC Cavalli tube hybrid AKG K612 Sennheiser HD 25 Sennheiser HD 580 Focal Elex Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor Genelec 8040 I mainly use the amp in the RME ADI 2 DAC, but the CTH is nice when I want a more relaxed sound. My main source is my local music library and I use Foobar2000. So far I am pretty satisfied with this setup. I do also have a older 5.1 setup for movies, but there are 4 different brands in that and I can't remember any of the models.
  5. Okay so for idk 2-3 months I have been looking at the used market for a size XL full suspension 29" bike, but so far no luck. Either they want almost new price or they have 27.5" wheels or they have been size M. Might as well go with a new Canyon or Commencal now oh well.

in other news it seems like the AKG K550 is no longer an option for EU people, it isn't on AKGs own webshop (except for the US one) and no shops seem to have them either.

Before you buy amp and DAC + recommendations.

well the last few pages are out of my control, I can't control what people write. The post is mainly for newbies, which means that I can't go too technical and need to keep it basic to not scare away people. I try and keep my main post updated as much as possible with new DAC and amp recomenndations, but ofc I can't update it every time something new comes out. I do agree that there could be cleaned up in some of the replies. Ofc if you want gear added or a topic/term added then feel free to say so.
  7. Things will be added to the DAC and amp post in this weekend, sorry for the long wait, but I haven't had the time until now.

Yeah that exchange went rather poorly, but I don't think that he is because of the remove thread comment.

Uhm what? There are simple explanations to the basic terms and recommendations to gear in the more entry and mid range level segment of DACs and amps, why is this "bile"?
  10. ofc just as my vacation starts I get a sore throat. It's always like this sadly.

  11. damn this exams period is hard which is why I haven't been here much, but it is soon'ish over. But like always I already have a few projects I want to start on as soon as this period is over, the most interesting one for me at least is going to be rebuilding my hardtail mountainbike to make it more modern. So if anyone have tips of how to do certain things or where to find cheap good parts, then please say so. :)

No update on THX AAA 789 and JDS Atom amp, I think the package with them might be lost.

    Headphones recommendation

stay away from the M50x, they are pretty horrible for their price now. Muddy mid-bass bloat that bleeds into the lower mids and makes them bad, weird mids with a dip so they sound both widthdrawn in the lower mids, but they also have forward upper mid and then the sharp treble. Plus they have a very small soundstage and not very good imaging. They have just been hyped a ton by youtubers and people that are new to this field. If you want closed, then I would look at the AKG K550 or K553, it is the same headphone they just have a different name depending on where you are in the world. For open I would say AD900x, K612 though neither of them have bass that will make the headphones shake or feel a explosion unless you turn them up quite a bit, at least not compared to a closed headphone like the K550/553.

It absolutely isn't a option for everyone, there are plenty of countries in the world where massdrop products make zero sense to buy or are insanely hard to get. It does color the sound, it has a bump in the bass region and is overall a touch warmer sounding than the amp in the RME ADI 2 DAC. So I should delete a thread that has helped countless people, just because you think something based on Zeos? I don't think so... I see no reason to do so, it's all gear that is good for their price and offer different things. Not everyone wants what the THX offers, some want a warmer tonality, some want a colder one, some want a more precise one and the list goes on. If you are unhappy with this thread, create your own or suggest meaningful changes with some arguements to back it up. Saying "you should delete this thread" or "Every other amp recommendation is now obsolete unless you can't afford the $350 price tag on this puppy." has zero constructive criticism in it and nothing to back it up. That being said I will probably add it in the future and yes it is a good amp for those who can get it, but it isn't for everyone. I try to make this thread so that there will be good options for basically everyone no matter where they are, because I know how much it sucks to find a recomendations thread and then everything in it is something you can't just get because you aren't US based. Even on the used market it is hard to get audio gear, because quite a few of the US based people won't ship outside of the US. That is at least my experience from the last 7'ish years. Again feel free to create your own thread.

Please don't link zeos. It really doesn't help credibility, it actually does the exact opposite. Massdrop isn't a option for everyone, so to say that it makes every other amp obsolete would be wrong. It also isn't the end all be all amp, if you want something that has a warmer tone, then it isn't for you, if you want something that is less colored, then it isn't for you. Which again goes back to the point of what you saying about other amps being obsolete wrong.
  15. but would the PC completely shut off then? It takes like 2 seconds or so before it starts up again and the fans start spinning again.
