Okay so I recently built a new rig. I-7 6700k, gtx 970 (brought from old rig) 16 gb ddr4 ram, 1 tb ssd. i built this rig to start streaming regularly. My Internet speed is 300mbps down and 25 up. So from everything I've read i should be able to stream decently. However my streams are choppy and buffer all the time. Ive tried various settings and different platforms. This includes OBS, Nvidia Shadowplay, and XSplit. Nothing seems to help. Im mainly trying to stream Rainbow Six Siege
Now here is where it gets complicated. My monitors native resolution is 2560x1440 the reason I bring this up is one time my settings for siege got screwed up and set it down to 1920x1080 and i noticed my stream was a lot smoother at this display. Wasn't as smooth as i wanted but it was a noticeable difference. So i would ask does my games resolution effect my stream? and if so is it graphics card related? Would upgrading to a 1070 help my issue?
Secondly does my monitors native resolution effect my OBS settings. Would I set my base canvas higher and scale it down?
Ive looked around a lot for answers to these questions and found nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
