Well I use 6 at the moment but the case would have 2, and the motherboard has 8 so I think I would be fine in that regard. Are there any advantages to USB 3.1?

Well im not sure if I will ever get 8 sticks of ram, and I definitely won't go 3 way SLI so the only things I would really miss out on would be USB ports?

Hello, I am interested in buying a new X99 motherboard to pair with a 5820k, and I was wondering the differences between these two motherboards: ASRock X99M Extreme 4 MATX Motherboard: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-x99mextreme4 MSI X99A SLI Plus ATX Motherboard: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-x99asliplus I would like to know what features I would be losing out on (or even posssibly gaining) by going with the ASRock MATX motherboard. I have browns and I love them as well. An advantage of browns is that they are really common. And CM Storm keyboards are good, or the Corsair ones if you prefer "gamer". Do you want backlight/RGB? Becuase if so, the Corsair ones are good for that. If you want a "proper" mech you could get a Ducky Shine 5.

It depends what switches you want for your keyboard? Cherry MX, Topre etc. And then if Cherry, what MX switches? Blues, Browns, Reds? That would narrow down your choices as not all keyboards are available in a wide variety of switches.

Thank you for all your help. I will definately look into a 4690k to see if i can afford it, but i dont need the hard drive as i have one from an old build which I am going to reuse.

Thank you, I will get one of those psu's instead and will definitely look into getting an i3. Which one would you reccomend and would it be worthwhile trying to go skylake i3?

That was one of the other ones I was looking at, along with the MSI Z97I AC, Asus z97-i plus and the ASRock Z97E-ITX/ac. But I can't decide between them, I was looking at the Asus one but I just don't like the gold.

Why is that PSU better? is it also Fully Modular as that is a must for me.

Currently I have an old core quad cpu and I thought this would still be an upgrade, also I want to try out overclocking which I can't with an i3.
