Apple_II's Achievements

  1. I was just wondering because a friend of mine is thinking starting one and he wants to know of what NOT to do.
  2. What about gaming sites today really irk you guys?
  3. Hey OP, an 8800 is pretty useless. Think of it like taking that money and just shredding it. The initial investment is low but there is very little returns as well. Patience is a virtue. Its not about being rich. Be smart with that small amount of money you have. My family is very much not wealthy too. I spent many months(a bit over a year) saving up and just used a very old laptop to get me through. My first graphics card to upgrade an existing rig I waited to bit to get something decent. Waiting pays off.
  4. I definitely like how thick and heavy it is. It looks very industrial or heavy duty. It looks just great but not much overclocking headroom.
  5. Hello guys, So I am looking at 980's at the moment and I just really love the way the reference cooler on the 980 looks but the temperatures on it seems very disappointing. I see varying results from the low 70's to the low 80's. Does anyone here have the reference cooler? If so do you recommend it? Or does it just straight up suck apart from its good looks? I do plan on later sli's the cards along with water cooling.
  6. Oh dude I was in very similar boat. When I just want some time to myself since I get so little of it, all of a sudden I have to play tech support for someone in my family. I just want some time relax then my dad blames me for being lazy when I just fixed some other thing he broke.
  7. There is no onboard graphics for a FX4300. If you see low GPU utilization check out your cpu usage at the same time and see how high that is. If CPU usage is high but GPU isnt then you for sure have a bottleneck due to the CPU. Don't worry about the drivers in this case because there are no video drivers for a CPU with no integrated graphics. The only drivers you need to worry about are they nvidia drivers and I doubt yours are messed up.
  8. Hey OP, for the hard drive, you can get any laptop hard drive or ssd and install it actually quite as opposed to buy the premade ones for the 360. You just have to remove the 360 hard drive add on and take it apart and you will notice just a regular old hard drive in there. From there you can just replace it and put it back together.
  9. I am afraid to step in this thread but...here are a couple of good notes in getting a 360! -Watch it for the Red Ring of Death. On the original 360's, the RROD was quite infamous. If you can get one that isn't the original it would be much safer. The RROD is essentially the console overheating and the solder on it messes up aaaaaaand your console is dead. There are fixes but they are not permanent.(To those really savvy folk, I know I am really simplifying) -The 360 does not actually render 99% of games at 1080p. It just scales them up. Basically blowing up a smaller image. Its not a big deal but just some good info. -Some models of the 360 do NOT have wifi. So watch out for that! -If you get an original 360, do not move it while the disc is being read, it might ruin the disc. -The Slim is pretty awesome if you can get your hands on one. I am not talking about the one with 4GB or something of hard drive space. -You can upgrade the hard drives of the 360's. Hard drive space is VERY useful. Thats all I can think of at the moment! Good luck on the endeavor! Have fun!
  10. Honesty is the best trait you can find in many cases.
  11. I returned it for several reasons. I got it around christmas time. The VRAM issue wasn't my big issue as opposed to I have decided I want to save the money and get a flagship card. I have never had one and I would love to have one! I was wish the 980 reference cooler performed better since its so sexy. I don't think I am an idiot for returning it
  12. I don't think they realize how silly this sounds. When I first read that I thought, "Wait, there can't be more then one LGBTQ player in a team? So there couldn't be two gay women in one team?" but now I understand what they meant, and it still sounds incredibly silly as fuck.
  13. Darude Sandstom has just started playing in my college cafeteria. What year is it?

  14. Fellow, AMD user here. I suggest to get a used or new intel CPU.
  15. I saved up for a 970. Have it now. And now I completely regret(way too much coil whine and other issues).
