Technic77 reacted to SaladFingers in Those Mass Effect System Recommendations Were For 30fps
30fps is indeed playable. But to me, and many others, not very enjoyable. And when people are talking about 60fps, they mean solid 60, not a flunctuation that starts at 40-45... Hell, screw 60. I try to keep solid 120+ in my games. 30fps just seems too blurry and too hard to move fast (move the view fast enough and everything is motion blurred, can't follow the image with your eyes). It's what you're used to, and what games you're playing. Third person played with a gamepad is okayish at 30, but fast paced, twitchy fps you might as well call it unplayable even at 60 imho.

Because, while in this circumstance, it helped keep the driver safe, other times it has caused accidents. The system, while awesome for some situations, currently has massive gaps, and is nots suitable for fully autonomous driving, and why for a long time we will still need human oversight to fill in those gaps.

So in 20 years it will be illegal to drive a car older than about 10 years? Not gonna happen.

On a side note... Premium Beat has a ton of good tutorials and helpful articles, it's a great resource for all levels of video production.
AE will eat up everything you give it. That is bad for hardware enthusiasts, like the people who use this forum, as your all money will disappear.

Technic77 reacted to JettaGetUpandGo in New MacBook Pro outsold every competing laptop in just five days – Slice Intelligence
I don't get it. As the new MacBook Pros were launched with 6th generation Intel processors, Windows based laptops were released with 7th generation processors. While there is very little difference between them, the MacBook Pros are already a generation behind. The only thing that makes sense is there are so many different Windows based laptops out there that comparing sales is difficult. Notice the XPS isn't on that chart, it's the Inspiron 2-1's. No Thinkpad either. I would bet both of those are more popular than any of the other Windows based laptops on that chart.
I just replaced my 2011 MacBook Pro with a Lenovo Yoga 910. I looked closely at the XPS 13 as well. The specs were better than the best 13" Macbook Pro (16 GB of RAM, 512 GB PCIe), the price was cheaper, and from a usability standpoint, Windows is more compatible for business use. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the MacBook for day to day tasks, but Office for Mac sucks, AutoCAD is incompatible, and I needed Windows installed through Boot Camp for a few things that just weren't possible with OS X.
Build quality on the Yoga 910 and XPS 13 is right up there with the MacBook Pro. All aluminum construction (some carbon fiber on the XPS), available touchscreen (sounds unnecessary, but it'd be hard to go back), and most importantly, ports. My battery life is phenomenal (10+ hours) and there was really no crapware aside from a Lenovo Support app. Apple still gets the gold medal for their trackpad. Windows trackpads have come a looooong way in the last few years, but they aren't quite there yet.

but they are right in one regard.
Why should a word be banned, when it only pertains to a certain race, whilst other words, while bad and considered rude, are not banned at all?
This will just end in a circle-jerking of safe-space triggerings and flame wars

"Have no place in society". We have the right to free speech. It doesn't matter if someone is a neonazi or a racist, he has a right to express his opinion freely and I will defend that no matter what. When you take away that right from some people then you become just as bad as the ideas they express. That is not democracy. Besides, I do not see how having such opinions very public is bad. They will only get ridiculed from sensible people. If the society is affected by such stupid ideas, then the problem lies within the society rather than those ideas.

The "N" word is a cultural thing and is very specific. If you live outside of the US, white, black, yellow, pink, purple or whatever else, it's irrelevant to you. Also, those people that are offended by it are more than happy to use it to address themselves and their friends. So yeah, here's another word: Hypocrisy.
Words are just words. If I insult you, there are laws that protect you. Sue me. But taking away my right of free speech is dictatorship. In today's world I can simply b1tch about something I don't like and if I do it enough it will be censored. Who's to decide what is allowed to be said and what is not? Random groups that protest about literally anything?

You have every right to be offended by simple words. What it's happening here is that people want to impose their right to be offended unto others, effectively silencing them.
Yeah go ahead and claim how Google is a free private enterprise and how it can't be censorship. I'm used to people missing the point which is this: There is a very real, very concrete and very deliberate effort on the part of the Regressive Left to basically police language and force everyone through various means to conform to what they think. If they think something is sexist, something is racist, something is islamophobic, they want it gone from the public view.
People are actively trying to undermine free speech by demanding safe spaces, by being crybullies that sue people, dox people, try to get them fired from their jobs, try to make them outcasts in the eyes of public opinion simply because they don't share their political ideas about merely SAYING the word Niger regardless of context, regardless of the irrational stupidity of some people being allowed to say Niger because they have the right amount of melanine on their skin.
I like to excercise my right to critize said behavior and defend the right to be a fucking asshole to whoever I want to fight back against the every increasing desire for others to put their feelings above my freedom.

Technic77 reacted to Sauron in iPhone 7/7+ Verge Review
Where do I even start? No expandable storage, no replaceable battery, no proper nfc, no dual sim, no oled, no 1080p, no jack (which would be just fine if instead of removing it completely they had put in a different, digital port or if it had wireless charging), no wireless charging, no radio. I'm not going to count software features because there are tradeoffs, but on the hardware side it's quite lacking. Once again, that is not to say that it's unusable by any stretch, but it just offers less.

Technic77 reacted to BOT Edward in Driving exam (last time hopefully) question
Thats not their fault then provided they have put their indicator on prior to going forward enough to reverse.
You just have to learn not to be an asshole and ride up their ass, recognize that people reverse parallel park all the time and see that when their indicator is on and theres only 1 spot to the side that they are trying to get into that spot. And if you have gone forward enough so they cant get in you will see their reverse lights turn on, you not getting out of the way doesn't give you a right to complain that its taking them so long because you could have done something about it!
That's not their fault at all, you'd be the asshole in that situation lol

You dont get road rage because you are the asshole for "fun"?
Wow, you sir are a cockhead and I don't mind getting an infraction for saying that because someone has to!
-
Technic77 reacted to dalekphalm in Driving exam (last time hopefully) question
I gotta agree - do you realize how dangerous it is to intentionally cause road rage in other drivers?
Even if you yourself remain in control, you could easily cause an accident still, since making someone fly into a road rage could easily cause them to lose control of their vehicle. They might hurt or kill themselves (despite it being their own fault) - but more importantly, he could accidentally crash into YOU, causing your own death. Remaining in control of your own vehicle does not guarantee that you would be able to avoid any possible collision or accident cause by a person having a fit of road rage.
Frankly, you sound kind of dangerous, and definitely like a dick, to other drivers.
I personally back into a Parallel parking spot. Why? Simply because that was the way I was taught (both by any and all driving instructors, and by my parents). I've NEVER seen someone pull into a parallel parking spot, unless there was no car behind the spot. If you're parallel parking into a spot w/ cars on both sides, I've only ever witnessed people backing in.
Perhaps pulling into the spot somehow is "superior", but you cannot fault people for not doing something that is simply not taught. If you want more people to pull into a spot, you should teach as many people as you know how to do the manoeuvre.
