What's going on, everyone? I'm happy to be updating this thread! The build is almost complete, I'm just waiting on a Power Supply. I was originally going to see if BitFenix was able to send me one for this build, but they are currently low on stock for us YouTubers. So, I'm thinking about picking up the EVGA 430W PSU for the time being. Thoughts?

Anyway, I wanted to do a bit of customization to the build. Since I'm going with a primary black theme, the harsh clashing of the silver SSD in the side panel window was really bothering me. Decided to take matters into my own hands and create a video on my process. Hope you enjoy!

Hey everyone! Hope everyone is having a fantastic week. Just wanted to do a quick update.

First matter of business, I've been out for the count for about a week with pretty bad bronchitis. I haven't even been able to work on my own business, let alone my current builds. I'm hoping it starts to clear up this week so I can start getting down to business with all that I do.

My update today has to do with the internals of the physical case. As you all know, I'm going for a primarily white build...almost white out style. Because of this Sam (schgrcube) here on the forum has reached out to me in hopes to do an even exchange of my black internal parts, for his white internal parts. Of course, I couldn't say no to this!

Disclaimer: These pictures were shot from my iPhone 5S. If you would like higher quality images, please let me know.

So, here are the white parts I have received. I think they really add to the build. Thanks again, Sam!

Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I gave my last update, so I figured it was time to finally give you guys a mini update.

I'm happy to announce that Crucial has joined on as one of my official sponsors of the Red Arctic. First and foremost, thank you for believing in this build, Crucial. It means a lot to have you on board.

Anyway, Crucial has been awesome and sent over the MX200 250GB SSD...two of them!

Like I said, nothing major to announce, just wanted to give you guys a quick update. I hope to get some more parts soon. However, don't forget about my Black Pilot build, which is going to take a mini turn soon.

I remember when I was frightened from thunder. Your PSU will pass that stage in life, just have to give it time.

Thanks! Yeah, everyone seems to be having a hard time finding the R5. I believe the US is just limited on stock, especially with the launch of their new case. Hopefully Srgnt_Ballistic has an anwer since his last post.

Guess what guys, it's time for another update. Thanks to my awesome peeps at Fractal Design, my Fractal Design Define R5 White Windowed is now here!

Since it's been so long since I've dove into the custom PC building world, I forgot how large full cases are. The box drew me back a bit and made me realize, I might need a bigger desk for what I have in mind! Hey, I'm certainly not complaining.

Aside from the obvious video of this case, I'm a huge fan of the configurable HDD slots. Having the ability to quickly remove and relocate them is a huge plus. Especially since I'm planning on a custom water cooled loop. Overall, I'm really happy with the build quality and design of the Define R5.

I haven't had my fair share of time with the case, so I'll leave the review of this case for another day. Again, I want to quickly show my appreciation towards Fractal Design for sending this out to me, as well as being official sponsors of this build. Thank you!

For now, let's get some quick pictures!

So, it's finally time to give you guys a quick update. My Fractal Design Newton R3 White 1000W has officially landed at my front door.

Initial impressions, it looks extremely sexy. Obviously, white was the huge deciding factor on this PSU, but the fact is has Fractal's Snow Flake Logo on the top of the PSU made it an even easier choice. Since the setting is in the Arctic, I needed that snow!

Since this power supply is mostly modular, I'll be looking into getting some custom sleeves down the line. Right now, this is perfect to get my build going.

Again, I want to give a big thanks to Fractal Design for sponsoring this building and sending this power supply out to me. It truly means a lot.

Now, let's take a quick look at this sexy thing!

I'm pretty sure I'll be able to run a few less graphic intensive games on this build. Such as Minecraft at medium to high settings...who knows. We'll see and I'll definitely be keeping everyone posted!

    Who am I?
What's going on, everyone? My name is Steven Johnson and I'm 23 years old living in New Jersey. A lot of you may recognize me from my old YouTube channel (this is my current one - YouTube) or my Project Red Arctic build log. By day, I'm a freelance graphic designer. By night, I'm a YouTuber and Twitch streamer. Whether I'm producing videos, designing graphics or doing photography, content is my main focus in life - aside from my family.

    Why I'm Building?
Believe it or not, I'm actually building this computer for a number of reasons.

As I stated in Project Red Arctic, it's been a few years since I've actually built a custom PC. Since Red Arctic is such a large scaled project, I thought it would be wise to get my hands back into building. Sure, it's probably like riding a bike, but I'd much rather hone my skills back on a lower budget build than destroy a $5,000 build.

    Is there a theme?
You know, building a budget machine is extremely difficult. Building one with a small theme - even more challenging! However, I think I was able to get a small theme going. Essentially, I'm going for a blackout look with red accent. The name Black Pilot has a few meanings. Black = primary color theme. Pilot = testing my building capabilities.

If you have any recommendations on hardware that will make this build better, I am all ears! Building on a budget is difficult.
