Far late reply, I apologize. Yes, it does work, quite well infact. Elgato comes with it's own capture software as well that you can simply 'preview' in full screen without actually capturing anything and viola, it works. I haven't noticed any sync issues using this method (for the record, I originally used OBS to capture/preview from the card, but there was sync issues I could not resolve)

So, I got the Nintendo Switch only to realize none of my monitors have HDMI ports (display port ftw), but also that they don't have any other free slots. So, direct monitor connections are out of the question, also because none of them have speakers. So, I'm trying to find some way that I can jack the switch to my PC and video out to a monitor/window while being able to use the PC's speakers. Originally thought of using a capture card for this, as I can't find any form of 'pass-through' or receiver card. But from what I'm seeing, it'd be nothing but a laggy mess. Does anyone know of a way to make a capture card act only as a receiver for audio/video and lets me push that out to a monitor?

So Linus, I noticed you and Luke seemed to be rather disappointed with audioshield due to the poor algorithm. I agree that the standard modes are rather boring, but I've modded a 'Hell' difficulty using a tool made by /u/pxrunes on reddit (can be found here). This mod seems to help a LOT with the algorithm. Some songs still feel 'off', but those are far fewer than prior. I'll attach the mod file for you guys to test out, if you're feeling up to the challenge. Fair warning, this difficulty level requires some getting used to. I personally recommend trying Freaks by Timmy Trumpet ft. Savage--for funzies; and Escalon, from the Bleach OST Season 3--for that true hell feeling. Or Through the Fire and Flames. You know you want to. (For anyone else interested, open the tool, copy the folder path to audioshield to the box at the top, import the mod file, and click mod the game mode. I do not recommend using any of the advanced features, as with the latest audioshield update, many of them are broken) I'll record a video later of me playing it, if anyone would like to see it. Since you seem to know a lot, I have a request for you. Can you give me an estimate as to what would be better for a particular setup? Here's what I have/want to have. I'm using a multi-monitor setup. One PG278Q (RoG Swift, 1440p, 144hz), 3 peripheral 1080p monitors (one on top, two portrait to each side). I game exclusively on the Swift, and use the peripheral for various other programs I like to monitor (mostly IRC rooms). I am looking to upgrade my 780SC (6GB) to the 980, and have been waiting for the 980 8GB variant (if it ever happens). However, what would the difference be for me in this instance? Would a regular 980 suffice? Or would the 8GB variant help a lot? Games I'm playing recently include Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen, so it's hitting the GPU pretty hard. I should also note that I have a 770 in the case to cover the 3 peripheral monitors, so those 3 monitors can be excluded for the moment. Pushing further on this, how would an SLI 980 4GB vs 8GB stack up? This isn't just speculation. I'm planning on SLI anyways, but will likely hold off on the immediate SLI upgrade and just use one card interrim.
