From what I'm seeing online it looks like the Blackwidow is 6u (as opposed to 6.25u for most standard keyboards), but I'm not sure how compatible getting a new stabilizer will be for that board.

I understand that prices are likely to change by Friday but I want to give him an idea of which parts to pick. One question I have is whether or not a 3600 is worth it. I personally use a 3600 as I need the workload, however he mainly plays low demanding games (League of Legends, indie steam games) so I'm figured the extra ~$70 is not worth the upgrade to a 3600. Another question I have is how the new gpu market is. I personally would grab a used 1070 for $200 (which is also what I run personally), but just incase that he isn't comfortable I have no idea what is currently "meta" for the GPU market and just threw in a 1660 TI, but budgeted maximum for the GPU $300. I kinda want to have this build at $700 pre-Friday price cut, so by Friday it will either be comfortably less, or possibly not adjust much and which case $700 is still the maximum. tl;dr: Is a 3600 worth $70 over a 2600, as I personally don't think so considering his workload. What is the best new gpu in the sub $300 price range.

You didn't include a price, but typical with prebuilts a 3700X and 1650 (not even super it appears) is a huge mismatch. Would not buy even without seeing the price.

Around the same budget would be a Ryzen 3600 and a B450 Gigabyte Aorus board. With the savings on the board you might be able to bump up to a 3700(x).

I'm not quite up to date with the GPU market atm (not sure what the best value in the upper range is), but I see no reason that you shouldn't be looking at a 3600/3700(x), especially since you plan on playing at 1440p. I would also recommend a higher quality PSU as I don't think that's that high on the tier list but I may be wrong. edit: Nvm psu is fine, definitely still go Zen 2.

I prefer the G502 over the G600 lineup but I don't think you can go wrong with either whatever is better for your hand size/mouse grip. Although G502 does have the benefit of being rechargable.

Yeah unfortunately I'd see if you could sell those two parts and pick up alternatives. If it was literally any other part I think it would be okay but those are the two parts in your build you don't want to cheap out on as it can mess up the rest of your build (cooler as it is watercooled, air doesn't really have this issue).

If you ran user benchmark it might be helpful if you share that with us.

Can't recommend the 2019 lineup of Macbooks even as an Apple user unless you really need macOS which it sounds like you don't. Pick up the other laptop and if you decide you want a Macbook sell it and pickup a 2020 lMacbook that's expected to have scissor switches again.

Keep in mind it's used so it will likely have a degraded battery.

I would have trouble recommending the two cheaper ones without looking at reviews outside of merchant websites (so like YouTube or some independent websites) as they can be a bit funky with their actual display refresh rate and color accuracy. You can watch a recent LTT video about this (I think it's called like cheapest 144HZ monitors or something to that nature) where they test the cheapest high refresh rate monitors and see how that experience can be (obviously in your case scaled up to 1440p).

If you want to stay with iOS you might be able to pick up a used iPhone 8 in that price range especially with the new lineup coming soon (definitely if you can get $100 for your current phone). Otherwise you're switching over but there are some good options. The Pixel 3a is a bit out of the price range but would be a pretty good option (apparently there's a deal for the 3AXL atm for ~$379). An S8 is also an option but I haven't had good luck with software updates especially with a phone that's already dated but perhaps it has changed.

I'm gonna start by saying if you're going to build a PC today, please don't base it off a 9700K unless you already have one (it sounds like you don't). Also it would be helpful to know what specific Corsair 750w you have, as it's very possible it is a very low quality one that you should get rid of ASAP.

You could try changing the passcode temporarily to 4 digits, but if I were to guess there's another underlying issue and that won't work but you can try that.

Are you planning on purchasing a brand new 4790K? Those look like they are on eBay for like $200ish. The rest of your build looks pretty good so I personally would hold on as long as you can, especially since you have to ditch your RAM when you upgrade.

I think the Mate 20 Pro is a better phone but I wouldn't want to RNG my phone not working because of the US government, so probably the A70. Even tho you're based outside of the US it seems, Google not supporting the phone would still be an issue.

I don't think that's super great at 500 but the 1070 is pretty redeeming and you could definitely do worse. Honestly with all those accessories it's probably worth it but I don't really value those at anything. That build is certainly better deal than whats in my area.

You'd have to update BIOS but MSI is supporting Ryzen 3000 in that mobo source: https://www.msi.com/blog/the-latest-bios-for-amd-300-400-series-motherboard I don't think AMD is recommending it but if MSI has drivers then why not I think.

There's no reason to downscale to 1080p normally; trust me you can run desktop at 1440p. I'm sure even a older card like a 750TI could run 4K desktop and be fine. You could probably get a decent framerate 1440p playing CS:GO. But otherwise, I think we would need a budget to give a good answer as you could go 1440p or 1080p for 144HZ.

If they aren't a gamer isn't a 580 probably a bit overkill? Perhaps a 570 or maybe even a 2400G/3400G (with appropriate memory) suffice? Maybe that isn't cost efficient but I don't think that game is particularly demanding.

With 3770K's looking to be around $70-80, I don't think so. The only real improvement you'll get is hyperthreading, but a lot of games won't benefit from that anyway. A 3770K isn't a horrible value in a vacuum but considering you already have a 3470 I would just sit and save.

Have you tried moving the RAM to A1/B1?

Please wait a month to build your PC for the new Ryzen processors to come out. A lot will change by then to the point where I can't really recommend anything (definitely different power supply and ssd though, that's a pretty good price for RAM though I would consider even buying that now and waiting for everything else later).
