  1. 5 days, 12 hours, 56 minutes of music (or about 133 total hours)
  2. A new cooler, some additional ram, and a new monitor (hopefully, but unlikely a Dell U2410)
  3. Maybe show her that it's more or less the same specs as that Asus Chi or whatever the hell it's called one that's closer to $1000. Also maybe tell her that to use it properly she needs at least a $20 adapter, more likely an $80 adapter.
  4. You're welcome. Another thing that's not too bad to remember is this has the potential to maybe not get you a job independently, but it may help you potentially get a job at somewhere like Techno buffalo, Linus Tech Tips or some other larger tech journalism/review company.
  5. With great difficulty. First things first, remove any preconceived notions of being able to do it as a job. Do it because you enjoy it, not because you think it can be a job. Second, learn and practice how to present. You need to sound interested and engaging, people won't listen to you waffle on about whatever it is you're talking about if you don't sound the least bit interested. Additionally, you don't have to be perfect, if you mess up a line, either continue forwards (if it's something small) or start the line again and cut it out (if it's something large or you pause for a bit) Third, you mentioned a owning a blue yeti. Use it. It's simple enough to sync up your mic with your camera if you clap, and your videos will sound much better Fourth, if you have access to some lighting, light your set or shots decently. Even a desk lamp will look better then the limited amount of light you may get otherwise (although this is one of the things that may not be too important) Fifth, even if it is just movie maker, learn the features of your editing software. Knowing all you can get out of it is rather useful. At the same time, also know what features not to use, like auto lighting or most transitions Sixth, if you want to use music, get royalty free music. It may take a while to find some, but it's better then having your video deleted cause you had Gangnam style in the background. And seventh, learn to take criticism and advice. A lot of people don't do this well (such as the people who want to get rid of the dislike button). If people give good useful advice, take it on board. If not, ignore them, or block them if they're too bad. EDIT - And before I forget, don't try to suck up to companies and avoid critisising them in order to get review products. People will see right through that.
  6. Both of my HP printers, one doesn't do wifi any more, has a faulty power button (so you can't switch it off/reboot it easily) and once printed a page of "H". The other one makes horrible grinding sounds as it starts to print.
  7. 3 TB drives are inherently just weird then.
  8. I think it's due to the infamous 3 TB drives that seem to have stupidly high failure rates.
  9. I have a HP 6730b laptop from 2008ish that worked great other then the battery life Otherwise, I also use a Compaq 5017 monitor that is from around 2002 and works fine.
  10. As far as I can tell, he seems to have switched to the Razer Blade, from his XPS 12, so the 13 probably got sent back.
  11. I will have you know that consoles are quite nice and useful. My original PS2 is making a rather quite nice monitor stand. I'd like to see a gaming PC do that.
  12. Not sure about the earlier, but for the latter, I use the Bulk Rename Utility (creative name, I know), and it works pretty well (but is a little complicated to get used to).
  13. It's free to the consumer, I don't see why it's a "bad thing" to keep it. There's also the fact that if they remove it people will get pissed off that they no longer get something they used to be able to.
  14. I just realized, I failed to mention that it was the official HTC one, sorry.
  15. So, I've had an HTC One m7 since around august of last year, and for the most part, it's been pretty good, particularly after I installed a custom rom and improved my batter life. This was until two weeks ago, when I wanted to transfer some music to the phone. I was having issues with it not showing up in explorer (not something that new). I decided I'd try plugging it into my USB hub. I did, it didn't work, and I noticed the cable was a little warm. I unplugged it from the phone, and discovered that there was a billow of smoke and some melted plastic. The odd thing is, other then the internals of the port being a little melted, the phone charges fine, and syncs more or less fine. As such, I sort of wanted to get another opinion on whether I should keep and continue to use the phone or if I should try and return/replace the phone from where I purchased it. EDIT - I failed to mention before, but I was using HTC's official cable. Also, sorry for the horrible pun.
  16. I do rather love the design of the K70 RGB, also WASD's code keyboards. I'm currently running a Ducky Shine Zero wish blue LED back lighting, so there's that. I also have a random Apple wired keyboard right next to me.
  17. I think one of my big issues is not when people say that iOS is more secure then android, but that it is because of touch ID. Because it isn't. Fingerprints, if you don't know, are actually really bad as a primary/only password. You leave them everywhere, you can't change it and even touch ID was broken into pretty soon after it was released.
  18. You can do a surprising amount of editing work inside it. Perhaps not to the point of Premiere/vegas, but still not bad.
  19. Probably the Performance MX. I picked one up during a chirstmas sale, returned several months later due to a faulty left click. Several weeks later the replacement's scroll click didn't work, and I replaced it with a G300. I later replaced the G300 with a G700S, which had a faulty g8 button. Less painful, but more funny - I had to send my lumia 610 to be repaired, and I got a picture from the inside of the Nokia repair facilities...
  20. 2011 - LG Optimus One (Prepaid) 2012 - Nokia Lumia 610 (Postpaid/contract) 2014 - HTC One M7 (Outright)
  21. I picked up a keyboard and a microphone from PC Case Gear, it arrived in bubble wrap and some plastic postal wrap stuff. I picked up a capture card from PC Case Gear, it arrived in bubble wrap and some plastic postal wrap stuff. I sent out a hard drive for RMA, with an inch of bubble wrap on every side. The replacement - shipped in a couple (2 or 3) layers of bubble wrap and plastic postal wrap stuff direct from PC Case gear (it hasn't given me any issues however, so there is that).
  22. For friends or whatever, if it doesn't cost me anything, I won't charge anything, and I typically won't take any payment they do try to make, unless they truly insist and it's not something that was super simple/a super easy fix
  23. Take some of the best bits of Splinter Cell, Mass Effect and Battlefield's multiplayer, add on a highly engaging story of conspiracy and mystery that's got a heavy emphasis on player choice, and you've got Deus Ex Human Revolution, a game I'd personally highly recommend.
