  1. The MSI PRO B550-VC (non M) seems like a slightly modified version of the B550-A PRO, I noticed two more SATA ports, the PCIE x1 slots are now full length (x4 wired?), the third slot may only now be wired for x4 instead of x8 previously, and the fan header below the SATA ports is rotated but it looks very similar otherwise. I'm guessing they share the same VRM design.
  2. Yep, they are fun. I don't have the cooling to push my 1660 very far (safely :)) but it would do 5ghz @ 1.4v without much fuss.
  3. Yep, also look at the 1620, very similar to the 3820. http://hwbot.org/hardware/processor/xeon_e5_1620/
  4. Yeah, it's a nice little chip. I was finally able to grab one for a more reasonable price, seems like someone is parting out old Mac Pros :). That's what I was thinking, ha. Although, I'm surprised how low the temps are on Ivy-E compared to Sandy-E. Package temps seem to be quite a bit higher (at least in my case).
  5. Playing around with w3530 again, but in front of a window AC this time, bios decided to reset and I gave up. Ill probably pop in a x5670 next and see if I can take it a bit further.
  6. Sold for $350, now to find that 980ti/1070/1080 at the right price. Had that $199 evga 980ti b stock in my cart but then the site went down.
  7. 470/570/580 are also going for ridiculous prices on ebay. Even older cards like the 290/290x/390/390x are going for way too much, 390's are going for more then what I paid on release. Considering selling my 390 and grabbing a used 980ti or 1070 for a free 20-30% boost.
  8. That would be pretty impressive. I've been watching the Hwbot records, it seems like they usually max out around 3800mhz-3900mhz, at least on the 7900x. But nearing 6ghz is pretty insane on 10 cores.
  9. 7% over Kaby Lake seems a little optimistic as Kaby already gets 201. I don't see 215 happening at stock clocks unless it's running 4000mhz DDR4 or something.
  10. Hmm, I think it can range between 190-200 This review shows 201 https://www.extremetech.com/extreme/241950-intels-core-i7-7700k-reviewed-kaby-lake-debuts-desktop This review shows 193 http://www.anandtech.com/show/10968/the-intel-core-i7-7700k-91w-review-the-new-stock-performance-champion/4 Edit: made a mistake
  11. Some were saying we'd see a pretty large IPC improvement over Broadwell-E due to the L2 cache, someone even said 10-15% over Skylake. I just don't see that happening, I suppose it's possible in very specific workloads.
  12. Nice voltages for those clocks. A 6950x@4.5ghz gets around 2300-2350 MT and 185-190 ST depending on memory speed. so IPC increases look to be about the same as Broadwell > Sky/Kaby, around 5-6%, at least in CB15.
  13. Hmm, that's interesting. I have a w3520 that I thought clocked a bit better. I'll have to pop it in and see what it can do.
