  6. Firstly, sorry for the title.# I have legitimately searched everywhere for a solution to my problem, but it is hard to figure out what my problem is in the first place. So every now and again it will take me 10-20 minutes to startup my computer, whereas it 90-95% takes 5 seconds, a staggering difference. I have tried to find many fixes by searching for things like 'my pc tages ages to load' and it will come up with basically upgrading hardware (mostly saying get ssd/along these lines). I am booting Windows 8.1 64-Bit off my OCZ Arc 240GB SSD and my Hard Drive is the WD 1TB Blue, the really common one( WDEZEX i think). I have read that a clean install of Windows can help but i've misplaced the CD for it so im leaving that till later on/ seeing responses from this. I have thought about upgrading to windows 10 but am iffy at it still. Im sorry i cant help at all but il try to describe some of the characteristics so to speak of the problem, to the best of my ability. - As aforementioned it will take dumb amounts of time to load up the desktop - It would seem that this happens after updating and shutting down normally out of windows, then when i start it up again it configures windows (takes a really long time too, but have nothing to compare to) - More recently when it happens everything hard drive/ssd related such as loading applications like Malware-bytes, CrystalDiskInfo (which most of the time they wont respond for some reason but are fine 90% of the time like everything else) will basically make the PC shit itself and just stop being itself, so to speak. - When i try to open steam when it goes super slow, it opens the update thingy that takes 2 seconds to leave, but it just closes and nothing happens for ages and after several attempts it will open (just opened as i was typing line below this one after first trying to open it roughly 20 minutes ago. - Things like Chrome and internet connected things seem to work fine, as i am making this during one of the spazz outs and as mentioned above steam store browsing working normally. - Lastly there is no connection i can make with the start/stop of this problem, as likely when i start my PC up tomorrow it will be normal again. I am really sorry i cant describe it well and if this was a time waste for any of you, sorry again, i am just trying to avoid going to a store and losing my PC while they look at it for however long it takes. My specs are listed below if it helps. I also have had this PC maybe 3 months now? since i built it, and this problem maybe only started occurring within the last month/3 weeks, hard to remember really i5-4690k stock clock Gigabyte Z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard G Skill Sniper series 2x8 16GB kit Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 OCZ arc 240gb SSD WD Blue 1TB Noctua NH-D14 Fractal Design R5 EVGA SuperNOVA Nex 650 80+ Gold fully modular PSU Windows 8.1 64-Bit Look, i know its not that much to go on and there is a high chance i might just have to live with it, but it was worth a shot calling for help, because what's the worse that can happen? If there is any more information that i missed and is need do tell me so i can help you help me (: <3

  8. Hello, So First of all i have a question about my motherboard which may or may not alter my decision. it says on the specifications that the on board sound card "can drive up to 600 Ohms" and this just seems a bit iffy. I have no clue but confirmation would be nice http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4959#ov. I am into FPS games mainly CS:GO and am struggling to play well because i cant hear the guy running up behind me and knifing me when im cornered in short in de_Dust2... the pains of life. so anyway i read that open back headphones are better for gaming in general because of the wide sound stage so you can hear more in depth and so on, but does this really matter? I also would like for the headphones to be semi-suited to my taste in music, which for the foreseeable future is electrical stuff like Monstercat (for example) and pop stuff (like most of the top chart stuff these days). What headphones suit these needs reasonably well and are accessible in Australia. My budget will be around 300$ AUD but i dont really want to spend that much because i need to get a mic as well and i don't know how much that will be. here are some headphones i have been looking at: Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro $269 AUD http://www.jaben.com.au/collections/beyerdynamic/products/bey-dt990pro My issue with this is that it is a 250 Ohm headphone and from my reading they almost always need a DAC/AMP but my motherboard says up to 600 Ohm so i am not sure if this will eventually incur extra costs of an amp etc. Sennheiser HD558 $200-250 AUD (depending on stock levels) http://www.jaben.com.au/collections/sennheiser/products/sen-hd558 This looks like a very nice headphone and is equally favoured with the DT990 thats about all i can think of that interests me at this stage and is also why im asking, as you are the wizards I am open to any suggestion if you think it will fit my needs well enough. If i have missed anything important in this tell me so i can help you help me. cheers
  9. which ones in particlur? i have really no clue what im looking at apart from price at this point. tyvm
  10. Worth waiting another month you think? it certanly seems compelling
  11. So about three months ago now i got my PC :D (its fucking amazing btw, parts at bottom) and now my really, really (really, really if i didnt say already) old speakers are dying and i am in need of a mic for comms in various games, and also a nice sound experience. i am a newbie at audio stuff and have very little idea at what to look for as searching for "best headphones for gaming/ for listening" comes up with lists that arent really explaining why the products were picked and also are too out of budget. i have also heard of many brands that are reputable such as Audio Technica, HyperX (for the clouds) sennheiser and one called AKG. i have very little knowledge of any of these and have come for help from u guys as i find it reliable to come here for help. Seeing as im in Australia my options are somewhat limited and everything is dumbly overpriced imo. I will mainly be using them for fps games such as BF's and mainly CS:GO which is why i need a mic because i need to yell at them trolls and such (im not a silver pleb btw) but i would also like a good experience while listening to music, mainly electric stuff. Here is a list of headphones/headsets i have heard of and am interested in. I am not limited to these by any means but its something to start with(: 1. Audio technica AT m50x - $200AUD https://www.ple.com.au/ViewItem.aspx?InventoryItemId=614432 + Modmic 4.0 (from USA) - $90AUD total inc shipping http://www.modmic.com/collections/frontpage/products/modmic-4-0 2. HyperX Clouds - $115AUD http://www.msy.com.au/headset/14030-kingston-khx-h3cl-wr-hyperx-cloud-black-gaming-headset.html + an amp (ive heard and read that this is benefitted greatly by it but i have no clue on this topic???) My current budget is $200AUD but it will go up roughly 100$ per month depending on extra unknown costs and so on. I have read the thread at top of audio section but i am too dumb to understand it properly, so if any explaining is done in retard pls (: pls halp me senpais :3 much love if you need me to be more specific on anything tell me and il do my best (: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($319.00) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 65.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($88.00) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING 7 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($170.00) (was on a 70% closing sale thats only reason i got) Memory: G.Skill Sniper Gaming Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($196.00) Storage: OCZ ARC 100 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($125.00) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.00) Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE Video Card ($525.00) Case: Fractal Design Define R5 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($159.00) Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($129.00) Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WDN4800 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter ($45.00) Other: Cheap Optical Drive ($19.00) Other: 64bit Microsoft MS Windows 8.1 OEM (using gift card) ($50.00) Total: $1894.00
