Agreed.  Never cared for his videos before, and this was my first proper exposure to Austin and I'm really not liking it.  This SYW personally has been a bit dull so far I think.  Nothing has actually gotten done, cos each episode how to now be split 3 ways, 3 times the same kind of footage.

I have to admit that this edition sucks so far. After two episodes we've hardly seen any hardware bought at all and guys mostly talk and drive around or joke about intruding other's project spaces.
 
The last one, I think, the SYW with water cooling was fun to watch because there was stuff happening from episode 2 when guys got to make something from scratch. Now it's like you've rolled too much video and couldn't just drop too much of it to not loose the sense and so we have two episodes with literally nothing interesting yet.
 
The scene with Austin forgetting the laptop - seriously, who cares? You tried to make such a cliffhanger out of it...
 
Finally there's one thing with how the spent money is count - You've got to take transport into account. Rather than going for 45 minute rides for each piece just go grab something locally from those places with old computers first and then fill the gaps with craigslist, not the other way around.

If you are sensible and choose hardware sensibly, the CX series PSUs are absolutely fine.
 
The engine in my car is absolutely fine, but if I attempted to replace the engine of a lorry pulling heavy cargo across a desert with it, it would quite rightly explode into a million pieces with springs and cogs flying everywhere.

You know what I'm tired of? I'm tired of people fear mongering vendors based on a a single event or rumoured stories.
Examples of what I' talking about are:
1. Corsair CX series power supply. Someone showed a pic/video of a supposed torched PC with a CX PSU. Now everyone is going around saying that if you have a corsair PSU, in particular a CX model, you need to replace it because your PC will catch fire and burn your house down.
2. Seagate hard drives. There were issues with the 2TB drives due to the flooding in Thailand a few years ago. This has been long resolved. But still people insist that if you have a Seagate Barracuda drive you need to replace it ASAP with WD before all your data is lost. They put a real personal spin on it too....your kids photos, your wedding pictures, pictures from granny's 95th birthday party, etc...will be lost forever if you have a Seagate drive.
3. AMD CPUs. They run too hot and will fry up and will melt the inside out of your case. That is why you need a big honking aftermarket cooler, otherwise your system will go on thermal overload burn your house down.
Can't we just just get a grip on reality here?

Look, Seagate had issues with the 2TB Barracuda when the floods hit Thailand a few years back.  It was well known.  From what I have seen and read, the issue has been resolved and they work just fine now (the 2TB that is).  
 
The 3TB & 4TB Barracuda's have some really good reviews if you take the time to look around the web.  Some are even recommending them over the WD counter-part. 
 
I have two 1TB Barracudas running in RAID1 on my machine and they have been solid for 2 years with no issues.
 
Stop tarring all Seagates with the same brush.

Same WD I'm using, the WD Black.  It is louder than the Seagate Barracuda I'm using in the same PC.

I ordered a 500 GB Seagate Barracuda HDD from Memory Express. 
 
They phone me up today and say it's not in stock anymore and they will be shipping me a 1 TB Barracuda for the same price as a 500 GB.

If u are not allergic to AMD-s crap you could, but the man said he wants NVIDIA then why do you still reccomend AMD?

Considering your board is made by MSi, there are 2 logical trains of thought, yes and no.
 
1.  No, you do not need a fan.  Pray that your board does get too hot and dies.  Then you have a perfect excuse to get an ASUS or Gigabyte board.
2.  Yes, put a fan in there as you know your board is made by MSi and not "up to snuff" like ASUS or Gigabyte. 

I'm presently doing a build in a 200R.  First time using the case.  I like it.
 
I used a 500R for my gaming rig.  Nice case too.

I've seen people put a H100i into a mini-ITX case before.  It was a total hack up job to the case and with the video card in there it was quite a squat-up gong show.  It was ugly to look at, but it worked.

200R only?  Are you Carey Holzman now too?

- ASUS GeForce GTX 750Ti Video Card (I upgraded to a ASUS GeForce GTX 970 STRIX)
- 2.5 inch ADATA 128 GB SSD (I upgraded to a 250 GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD)
- EVGA 600B 600W Bronze Power Supply (My friend went to a Corsair RM850i)
- ASUS 24x DVD-RW Drive (I had this just lying around from somewhere)
- 2.5 inch Hitachi 500 GB HDD (Taken from my wife's laptop when she went to a SSD)
- 3.5 inch Seagate 500 GB HDD (Bought new a year ago on sale and never used)
- Corsair Carbide 200r Case (My friend upgraded to a Corsair Graphite Series 760T Full-Tower Case)
- HP 21.5 inch IPS LED Monitor (Cheap monitor I had around that)

See, that's the catch with MSI stuff. They make it look all pretty and stuff. But it's still a pig wearing lipstick.I have the ASUS gtx 970 STRIX. It works just st fine.

That is a decent machine you have there. You will regret selling it.
