  1. He ended up finding this gem: https://www.originpc.com/workstation/laptops/evo15-s-pro/ "Workstation laptop" but it has a 1060 lol.
  2. They should be equal performance wise ( within margin of error ).
  3. yeah i know, that is the problem lol. I think he is just gonna wait for the new xps 15 with the 1050. It seems like the best option.
  4. The Xps 13 has no graphics card so that won't work. But the HP Omen is looking promising.
  5. I was thinking the same thing, but he said it probably wouldn't get past his parents because it is labeled as a gaming laptop everywhere it's sold.
  6. He is unfortunate to have strict parents that don't want him to be gaming his life away at college.
  7. One of my friends is looking to join the master race. He needs a laptop for college, and he has a price range of around ~$1800. He wants good laptop that can play modern games, like GTA V. Does anyone here have any suggestions of laptops that would be good for gaming, but aren't called "gaming laptops" in the title or at all in the advertising? The best I have found is the Dell XPS 15, which for now only has a 960m, but is rumored to be upgraded to a 1050 in january. Thanks.
  8. You could try using a can of compressed air or a leaf blower to blow out the dust in the laptop's vents. That might help your issue.
  9. I am not an expert on RTS games, but i believe Ashes of the Singularity just recently came out.
  10. Yeah get a pascal laptop. They are so much faster than the old 900 series.
  11. Almost any cpu cooler will fit in that case. I recommend considering 16gb of ram. When I was playing the battlefield 1 beta, my computer was consistently above 9gb of usage, and ram usage in games will only get higher over time.
  12. triple 1080p pixel count = 6220800 Single 1440p pixel count = 3686400 1440p is ~60% of the pixel count that triple 1080p is. While it's not going to be perfectly 40 % harder to run, it will be significantly harder.
