  1. So I recently finished building a PC with parts I strung together from ebay and local used sites (and also what parts I already had lying around) and I managed to build an alright little system. The specs are an i5 3330 CPU, 8gb ddr3 1866mhz ram, an HD 7770 gpu, and an asus P8H61-I LX R2 motherboard. Now after 2 attempts of installing windows 10 (first try ended with a boot error after 2 days) I finally have it working with a lot of my steam library already installed. The problem I've discovered is I cannot get the system to restart in any way, the system can shut down fine but if I restart the PC through windows, through the bios or even with the physical reset switch on the case the screen goes black, all the fans spin to 100% and it refuses to do anything until I cut off the power. The system powers up okay but because i cant restart/reset the PC so I cant save any changes in the bios such as ram speed changes. Frankly I'm stumped, anyone ever had this issue and or a possible fix? Thanks
  2. Hey guys, I was hoping someone might be able to help me with an issue that's totally stumping me. For about 5 months now I've had tow 980ti's in SLI in my rig and for the most part it's been fine but recently I've been experiencing some major problems. The issue that's being reported by multiple games is something to do with pixel formatting, it stops Doom and minecraft from launching at all and causes random total system lockup in Overwatch. The only thing I can be certain of is my Nvidia control panel keeps bugging out and only has 2 options and the rest are totally missing. I have on MULTIPLE occasions completely removed all nvidia drivers in safe mode using display driver uninstaller AND I have reverted back to an older drivers
  3. Hey guys. Over the past 4 days my system has been on the fritz. I have dismantled, rebuilt and reinstalled many p[arts and copies of windows 10. My PC has 2 980tis in sli and i have been swapping between them and the igpu. Basically i kept launching the fresh install of windows and every time i launched a game of did anything graphically demanding I got a blue screen of death (actually not just blue, at various points, red, purple, magenta and cyan of all things) , specifically i got this launching overwatch consistently. the display was fine for general usage such as browsing google and windows operation. Anyway I swapped to my second 980 ti and, it worked fine, overwatch launched and played fine (to double check i swapped them back again and the first crashed again and then swapped back to the second and it was fine). So does it sound like my first 980ti is a lost cause?
  4. Done that. No change. still no display and A6 debug
  5. Yeah, I have tried a few. The issue and debug code are the same regardless of drive config or even without any installed
  6. Hey Guys I was hoping for some help. Last night my pc switched itself off and attempted to restart unsuccessfully. I tried rebooting and was met with and endless windows 10 logo, after a few more attempts that turned into a blue screen of death. I was getting an error code 0xc00000f, I tried a few fixes but no luck. anyway I decided i would just reinstall windows from scratch as its something Ive meant to do for ages anyway. I removed my boot ssd and put it in another pc to remove files like my witcher saves n such. I then placed it back in my main pc ready to install windows 10 but now, I cant even get into the bios. My mobo is an asrock extreme 6 with a 4790k installed, I have powered down the PC numerous times and used the clear cmos button on the back of the mobo but I keep getting the debug code "A6" whether or not I have any drives connected. I get no output to my monitor so its impossible to get into the bios. ANy ideas? Thanks in advance
  7. Just tried that. No luck. Now its caused severe flickering in game as well
  8. Okay. Lurick was right about the m.2 drive. i cloned my os onto my spare sata ssd and removed the m.2 ssd and now the option for sli is available! Although now my new problem is im seeing no performance gains whatsoever. i tested witcher 3 at 4k yesterday on one 980ti and i was getting 30-45 fps with maxed out settings. with sli enabled and both cards working im getting either the same of less performance. Any ideas?
  9. thats 8x ive ordered a longer sli bridge and I'll see if changing to the lowest slot helps thanks, I'll update if it works
  10. I have a 4790k (not overclocked) and i have a samsung 950 pro m.2 ssd
  11. no just the gpu's. i had an old wifi pcie card in there but i removed it prior to installing the new card
  12. I've now tested both cards in both slots individually and Im getting the exact same framerates so the pcie lanes aren't bottlenecking
  13. I also have my cards in the top and middle slot. but still nothing
