  1. I hope not, paying for their "fast" plan which isnt meant to have any throttleing or dips during peak times. I might have to report 'damage' to the node and see if they will bother to send someone out then!
  2. The 360p was the best quality I could stream from youtube as an example. Single file downloads are also slow during the same time from various servers and locations like the nvidia driver, files from nexusmods, web pages in general slow down as well, spotify (especially during the video ads), facebook videos and loading large pictures as well. It's only around 2-3 hours of the day when this happens, peak time, my plan is meant to by unaffected by it. I would have thought it was possibly an overload at the node or an ISP cable plant but nobody in my street on Telstra plans (or other ISPs) have issues. EDIT: I'm thinking it could possibly be an issue at the node that relates specifically to my cable connection?
  3. Hey everyone, been a while since my last post but have run into a problem with my broadband that has been consistent over the past couple months. Speed tests from as many different websites are showing my usual ~100+ Mbps D/load and 2.5 Mpbs U/load but when actually trying to stream or perform any significant data streams through video, large files etc I'm struggling to load 360p video and files like an nvidia driver update at around 100kbps. I am completely stumped by what is happening, no outstanding bills, ISP (Telstra) says it should be fine and aren't seeing anything wrong from their end. All devices on my network are experiencing this over WI-FI and ethernet, tried restarting every device on the network and having ISP reset my connection from their end. This only happens around peak times when bandwidth has been unaffected for the previous year+ on this plan and out of nowhere this happens. Any help is much appreciated and thanks in advance!!
  4. Thanks! Any other uses for the 7850 other than selling since it wouldn't fetch much?
  5. Hey everyone! I haven't been in the loop of tech news recently due to intense times with school but that's finally over now! So here's whats going on, I have my old 7850 collecting dust in my cupboard and I hate seeing good tech wasting away like that. At the moment I'm running a 3GB GTX 780 in my desktop which struggles to keep up with some games at full resolution (mostly due to a shortage in VRAM). I've heard of DX12 now allowing the use of AMD and Nvidia cards in the same system now and want to know if anyone has done or has ideas on how to use an AMD card to assist rendering to the Nvidia card and if it would benefit by allowing more VRAM, like crossfire or SLI but AMD and Nvidia. So any possibility or am I completely crazy and just being to much of a tight ass to drop another $600 AUD on another 780?? Thanks in advance for help!!
  6. Linus, you really helped me get into tech which went from my first build to generating money from using the knowledge I gained from you! Also I never win anything and this would be insane!
  7. Hey guys, I need to recover some data from a HDD I got from a family members computer which just died and I am unable to access any of the data. A large amount of files aren't showing, I'm not sure if it is due to corruption or permissions. I'm pretty sure the HDD is okay because I cant hear any unusual sounds. I can't open or copy any files from the HDD and I am unable to change permissions for the HDD. Am I able to access it through windows in any way, or try to run the HDD OS as a virtual machine? Note: It was the Local Disk, running Win XP Home SP3. Thanks for any help!
  8. Hey everyone, For the past couple days i have been experiencing terribly frustrating behavior with my network. Some pages wont load or take forever, sometimes just images wont load or take forever and my upload or download speed has gone down the drain (Normal is 100+Mbps Download and 2+Mbps Upload). I have attached a trance route to facebook and a speedtest result. Note that the traceroute was from my access point, then modem. Normal Bad During a speedtest my download speed may be fine but upload speed will sit at 0.01Mbps until it times out. I have tried rebooting everything on the network, scanning for any malicious files and content, using my access point and primary modem with ethernet and wifi, have tried desktop pc, my laptop, phone, laptop, AIO pc, iPad. All of my devices are being affected although sometimes only a couple eg; my dekstop might be having this difficulty but not my laptop What can i do to diagnose or fix! Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
  9. Hey guys, im trying to decide between the Asus DirectCU II cooler or the stock cooler for the 780 im buying. They are the same price and as for matching my system, I have a Formula V, Red corsair vengance pro, H100i with red LED in a 650D (check my gallery for pictures). I think the DCuII would match better but the stock cooler looks better. Please help me out! EDIT: The 780 with ACX is only AUD$10 more, is it better?
  10. I've had a good look at those but i still kinda want something gaming oriented and closed headphones would be very helpful
  11. Hey guys, I am getting new headphones, I'm trying not to go over $200AUD much and so far I am stuck between the Plantronics Gamecom Commander 7.1 ($190) and Creative Sound Labs Recon 3D Omega ($245). Which one has better sound quality and is it significant? Is there anything better for a similar price? I want something capable of 7.1 for my gaming (Also compatible with PS3 or at least stereo from 3.5mm jack) but also great bass response for music and movies. I am not fussy whether or not it is wireless (Although handy). Here are my local stores: www.pccasegear.com www.cplonline.com.au Thanks.
  12. Its at stock, I got a pass for the intel diag tool, does it test memory as well?
