  1. Fantastic idea, maybe spend less time looking at a screen and more time speaking to the people around you?
  2. So AR-porn will be next I assume? You can just go into your living room, put it on and there are 10 girls in front of you and they will do anything you want (talk to them, strip et.c)? Yeah, we are doomed as a society.
  3. U.S. officials order Nvidia to halt sales of top AI chips to China https://www.reuters.com/technology/nvidia-says-us-has-imposed-new-license-requirement-future-exports-china-2022-08-31/ Something tells me that this Biren chip is more or less a strait copy of the Nvidia chip and by banning China from using it they can not make it anymore? Or are these chips just rebranded Nvidia chips? I dunno, but if it is a copy they should be ashamed of themselves.
  4. Machines from ASML can be shipped by road then maybe? Will be interesting to see what they will be able to do with the machines, I am expecting TSMC to get some competition...
  5. Did they not even include Hiroo Kinoshita when talking about EUV? Anyway, I would recommend Asianometry on Youtube, he does a much better job on his own explaining everything.
  6. All people I know uninstalled the app and stopped using their search, including me. Hopefully they will not be long lived.
  7. Summary Looks like we have a rocket on our hands! Second highest multicore score of any CPU, not bad. Quotes My thoughts This thing is a rocket it seems. Higher score than the Intel 12900 and almost as fast in multi-core score as the 3990X 64-core AMD Threadripper (which is #1). Apple moving forward, looking forward to a octa-CPU Mac Pro in the near future. 8. And they will STILL not be able to produce any machines comparable to those of ASML unless they continue their IP theft that their entire economy depends on.
  9. So Russia and China are in the same boat now? Beautiful.

Remove all of the italicised text before posting. Summary People who compete (and people around that help) in this years winter olympics in China must have a app installed. While you may think "so what", you are not seeing the full picture. According to someone who reverse engineered the app to look at the code it is quite obvious that the app is listening to everything that is said. Quotes My thoughts Why is this not a bigger issue? Why does the CCP want to listen in to everyone who is competing and storing everything and how can Apple and Google accept this? Sources
  11. I found the problem.... the main connector on the PSU was not inserted fully, it must have come loose for some reason. I inserted it until it clicked in and powered the computer on, works 100%. Sorry to have wasted your time, I guess it is good to know if I ever get a similar problem in the future and the PSU is not the problem,
  12. I don't know yet if it turns off/on while I am in BIOS settings, I will remove the SSD and try it tonight. I have windows on a thumb stick as well (boot drive), maybe try that also and see what happens, maybe it can help isolate the problem. Has there ever been an issue where the software makes it shut off/on like this? I mean now it does not even boot into Windows before it shut off.
  13. Hi, thanks for the reply. To me it sounds like a hardware issue as well but you never know until you know I guess. My thoughts on what you wrote: 1. I'll remove the GPU and use one stick of Ram (try different slots). If it does not work... 2. I'll use just the other RAM (16GB) (try different slots). If it does not work... 3. Take out the Motherboard and remove everything and put it back together, testing it while putting it back piece by piece to isolate the issue. I don't have a spare PSU which sucks. I have a multimeter so I can check the 24pin connector to see if it holds the required voltages at least. Is it possible to try it without the SSD M.2 attached? If It works then it should not be a PSU issue, right? Or am I wrong...
  14. This problem started happening yesterday. I was watching some DrDisrespect as I always do on Fridays and suddenly the computer just shut off and on again and booted back to Windows. While in Windows it only took about 5min before it did the same thing, off and on again. I thought maybe I should clear the CMOS so I removed the battery for about 5 minutes (I shut off the PSU and removed the cable as well), put everything back together again and the issue was still there. Right now, when I switch it on, it stays on for about 4-5 seconds before it shuts off and back on. The PSU makes a sound when it switches off/on (this is not software related it seems but power related). The computer has been used maybe 200h over the first year (I have had it for one year, I built it myself but I mostly used my laptop) and it has worked great during this time, no errors or anything. Parts I use in my build. Motherboard: Gigabyte Vision D (Z490) CPU: Intel 10600K (Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut with Noctua NH-D15S) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz SSD: Samsung 970 Evo Plus GPU: Nvidia Quadro P620 (for simple Solidworks jobs) PSU: Corsair RM 750W Cooling in the case: 100% Noctua fans so it is well cooled. Case: Fractal Design Define 7 Compact PS: I checked HWmonitor yesterday while it was on 5min and nothing was "off" regarding temperatures, all seemed normal.
  15. I am looking into buying the ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 Noctua OC Edition at a good price but I have a monitor (1440p) that has a couple of years on its neck and it's 60Hz. I am looking to play some games casually but I am worried about screen tearing and maybe other artefacts, are my worries valid? The monitor is a Dell Ultrasharp 27" from 2014 I think (60Hz).
  16. How many projects can I finish per full charge, that should be the question. If something renders faster but takes a lot more of the battery then I would not accept it anymore, that time has ended.
  17. The 19US$ cloth has apparently sold out. https://www.macrumors.com/2021/10/20/apple-polishing-cloth-december-delivery/
  18. Fediverse is the future, being locked in a centralised solution is outdated. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fediverse
  19. I use a Lenovo P1 with a Quadro card that I use with Solidworks. I can have it fully charged and it will go from 100% to 80% in about 15min, the experience is horrible. If Solidworks would work on Mac Apple Silicon I would jump ship so fast...
  20. Yeah people need to understand that. People who buy laptops just to play games on their free time is in the end more expensive if you don't use it for any work and try to earn your money back.
  21. People on here who show what everything cost and don't like it please understand, people who buy these more powerful models are most likely using them to make money, they are not buying them to play games. The price will be repayed fast if you work on the computer so the price means less than you think, especially to creators who use it to earn a living.
  22. If that is true they all praise to Apple. I hated the Intel Apple products because of the heating issue and lack of performance, but now... Oh boy...
