  1. you can save on the ram with only getting 1 of the 2 kits, the noctua fan is also not really needed and since its a non k card a cheeper cooler would do fine. that would save you enough money to get a good quality SSD for a boot drive.
  2. Everyone should use Apevia's power supplies. I have one running in my HTPC that I have had since 2008. It still runs as bad as the day I got it.
  3. Im looking for a good gaming/overclocking motherboard for my pc. I was given a core I5 4690K. My case is the H440 black and blue from NZXT and all of my watercooling components and lighting are already in blue and black. The cpu and motherboard its replacing is the amd fx 6350 and MSI 970A. And yes I really was given a brand new processor since mine was holding me back rather hard for the rest of my system. The hardware that I run in my rig right now is samsung 840 Evo 250 gb. 16GB of Gskill sniper 2400. AMD Radeon HD R9 290X. I am looking for the motherboard to be between 100-200 USD.
  4. this is why i have a 6300 that is OC'd. it is cheap. it works and i have room in the budget for a decent graphics card and SSD. if i would have went intel i would have had to either get a lower end gpu or no SSD. This wasn't going to work out for me personally because i much prefer the performance of an SSD over a slightly better processor.
  5. I would stick to either Ubuntu or Fedora. they are two of the most popular...aka the most support. linux mint isn't bad either. I have Ubuntu 12.04 and 13.10 running on my pc's currently and am enjoying the windows free experience. maybe windows 9 will bring me back... probably not though.
  6. And where does one go about obtaining light saber skills... makes me almost want to be a Jedi Warrior... almost...
  7. ...And this is why who ever "thought" a Minecraft convention was a good idea... was stupid. I'll stick to either CES, SEMA, PAX, Blizzcon, or a Comic Con. PAFCON anyone...anyone... Bueller... Bueller...
  8. i just purchased a r9 270x for 199.99 usd. this would be a noticeable upgrade.
  9. your looking at a 10% increase. that's hundreds of dollars. price to performance really can't be justified. the features on the z87 platform are nice sata 6gbs ports and all but not worth the upgrade price.
  10. This is the truest post ive seen on the forum...
  11. I built my wife's computer a year ago and built mine a week ago. her ram is the same as mine and costs half as much. ram and video cards are jacked up right now. cant wait for them to go back down to reasonable levels again.
  12. sounds like a good build. make sure you put a log on here of the build.
