  1. 4k tv isn't gonna fly with that graphics card. Your other option would be getting a displayport to hdmi 2.0 converter. I tried the club3d one, it worked, but I ran into a HDCP issue with it.
  2. Hey you guys, There are plenty of advantages and disadvantages to either setup. It's true that brushless motors would yield better efficiency and power, but brushed can offer more uses for cheaper. If you do a little research about rc rock crawlers you will see that most people will use brushed motors because they are able to deal with wet conditions better. There are quite a number of "waterproof" electronics coming out for the rc world. I would refer to these as more water resistant than anything else. Some hobbyists are using plastidip to cover the motor casings and the servos and radio boxes to ensure waterproofing. Short answer is Brushed motors are waterproofed electronics will probably be the best way to go. Not to mention that if you burn one up it won't cost an arm and a leg to replace it. Most of my brushless setups for speed control and motor are around 300 dollars. They are typically used for my 2wd race buggies and rc drift cars.
  3. The problem was the power supply. There must have been a short somewhere. I swapped out for a different one and everything is perfectly fine now. Although somewhere along the way something happened to where the boot sequence bypasses any sort of post screen and goes directly to windows....this should be an easy one to fix though.
  4. Hey everyone, I know that the title seems to be normal and all, but I got a corsair rm450 power supply for a build and testing it out of the computer I'm able to get voltage from the 6 pin connectors and the 8 pin connectors only flipping the switch on the back of the power supply. As far as I know, I shouldn't be getting any power until I "jump" the 2 pins on the 24 pin connector. Any ideas, or should I just RMA it. Thanks ahead of time.

    Wifi dropping

The distance is probably about 30ft. If you measure direct line of sight then your probably passing through 2 walls. What's interesting is that I can get full signal from my macbook pro and tablet on the 5ghz band. Even with my main desktop running on the 5ghz band and the router being about 10ft away from the router with nothing in the way I get poor reception.
  6. I think I'm having the same problem that your having. I just posted a new topic about it without searching the forum. My problem is that I can connect to a 5ghz band reliably, but not a 2.4ghz band. If you have a dual band router you might want to consider trying to connect to the 5ghz band. The wifi card that's in my computer is also a broadcom adapter. Hopefully someone can find an answer.
  7. Hey everyone, On my latest build I used an Asus z87i-deluxe for the mobo. It has wireless AC, but my problem is that I the 2.4ghz band doesn't connect reliably. I can get a reliable connection with the 5ghz band, but the location the computer is in I can't get a strong enough signal for the network. I've tried to mess with the network card's settings a little, but I don't know exactly what each setting does. Does anyone have any quick fixes? Thanks in advance.
  8. As of now, it's just the bluetooth, so I'm not worried, I just don't like to have a message saying that I have an unknown device.....so I'll just disable it that way and continue to be a happy camper. The big question is if I'm having a problem with my bluetooth, why not the wifi card as well?
  9. Yes to clearing cmos, no to taking the card out.....it just takes so much time because I actually have to take the mobo out....
  10. So, I uninstalled what I could find restarted and still the same thing. Still an unknown device. It says that the device malfunctioned and windows has stopped the device. The only difference is that I also installed the wifi card again.
  11. how do i uninstall the drivers if i can't find the device?
  12. Okay everyone, So this is kind of my own fault, I tried to undervolt my 3570k at stock clocks, but crashed. Since then my Bluetooth module of the mini pcie card is not being recognized by windows. It was working fine prior to the crash. It shows up as an unknown device under the the usb hub #3 port #1. If I disable the onboard bluetooth from windows it just recognizes it again, but if I disable it through the bios I don't have a message come up. I've tried installing the drivers, but can't complete the install because the card isn't recognized. Is there any possibility that I just messed up the card by undervolting? Can I use an Intel mini pcie wifi/bluetooth combo to fix this? Thanks in advance
  13. So it seems like the game just doesn't have any sort of driver support. I think the red square level... Or whatever it's called.... The level will seem fine until there's some sort of fog that shows up when your up in the field. From there it's not playable by any means. Or in the last level, when the big explosion happens the game just can't be played. So in terms of symptoms, it is super laggy, obviously there is frames that are skipping, in the menus the reaction speed of mouse clicks and arrow clicks is perfect, beginning of levels are fine until smoke or fog or any real processing has to be done. From the other aspect I just switched to an Asus maximus formula v board from the p8z77 pro board. I think I got all the older drivers uninstalled and what not.
  14. Hey Everyone, I was wondering if anyone else was having any problems with playing Metro Last Light. My problem is that it seems like the card is performing like the onboard gpu from the cpu...I didn't have any problems with my last gtx 780 (donated the card to a recent bitfenix prodigy build), so I bought the evga FTW version with the acx cooler. I don't have any problems with a good majority of my games, just metro. Any ideas?
  15. Okay, so I got it working. Pain in the butt for sure. Mainly because of having to take my motherboard out just to get to the mini card. All in all, I reseated the wifi/bluetooth card and had a fun time trying to recrimp the antenna wire that had been pulled a little too hard. Booted into windows and sure enough the card was recognized. At least its working. Thanks for the help anyway. It's always nice knowing that there are people to help.
