  1. Really interesting keyboard, definitely fits what I am looking for. Unfortunately I get a bit shafted by being in Canada again, 36$ shipping and most likely 15-20$ import duties. It ends up being another 200$ CND keyboard. But it is listed on amazon (unavailable), when it's back in stock in august it might also be available on amazon which might reduce the shipping cost. Great suggestion!
  2. Yeah, that's definitely an option I'm looking at. Unfortunately with shipping and import duties it's getting around 200$ CND. It's about as high as I'm willing to go but still within my budget, so I'm looking into it. I can also grab a bare-bone kit from amazon.ca or newegg.ca for around 120$ CND but I haven't managed to find 120 switches/keycaps at a reasonable price.
  3. Hello everyone, I'm currently looking for a new keyboard, I don't really follow keyboards development so I could use some help. I will be doing 50/50 gaming and development/office work so here is what I am looking for: Tactile, not clicky (so I guess Brown or equivalent) Full length keyboard I don't care for RGB (don't mind it either) but I do want back-lighting minimally I don't want to spend 300$ for a keyboard, I'd say my max would be around 150$ with some margin Media keys is a bonus but not a must have I would rather have a clean/professional look but again not a must have I looked around, read/watched a few reviews and ended up leaning toward a G610 Brown, it seemed to tick all the right boxes. But I can't seem to find any in Canada, the only one I find are with Reds or cannot be ordered online (like on canadacomputer). So before I go looking further (like ebay /shudder), I wanted to know if someone with more experience than me would have any suggestion for an alternative or if the G610 really is the best keyboard for me. I posted the same thing on reddit and someone mentioned the gmmk, looks like a good fit but might be a bit expensive with shipping/import duties. Thanks!
  4. Thank you for your input! I've read a few more reviews and "top 1440p" monitor threads (e.g. this and this) and the AD27QD is always highly rated so I'm leaning that way for now. It's also almost 100$ cheaper on newegg which makes this a bit easier.
  5. Hey all, So I'm ready to change my primary monitor and I've been researching most of the day but I admit that I'm not that good with monitors so I was hoping for some feedback on my research / conclusions. I've been using an ASUS VW266H for something like the last 10 years and I'm looking for the following in my upgrade (in order but all important): 1) Variable Refresh Rate 2) Higher frame rate 3) Higher resolution 4) Better image quality These 4 objectives led me to the following conclusions: 1) Variable Refresh Rate: I refuse to let my monitor choice lock my into a GPU vendor, this is part of the reason I waited so long to upgrade. Now that Nvidia (finally) changed their policy I guess I will be looking for a Freesync monitor, preferably one that is G-Sync Compatible. 2) Higher frame rate: This will be my first monitor higher than 60 Hz so while I've heard that 240 Hz can be noticeable, I'm sure 144 Hz will make a big enough difference for me. Besides I'm not sure I would be able to run at a higher frame rate in most modern games. 3) Higher resolution: Combined with #2 that pretty much excludes 4K, I'm planning on upgrading my GPU soon but not with a 1500$ monster. I'm already on a 1200p, so I will be targeting 1440p. 4) Better image quality: Here I have absolutely no idea how to judge. I've only ever used TN panels, I can't compare with VA or IPS. I read all that stuff about Color Gamut, HDR, etc. but I have no idea what is important for me because I have nothing to compare to. Everything looking good so far? I am making any false assumption, wrong conclusion? All this led me to these 3 monitors (and a potential 4th that's not release yet). Price based on amazon.ca, I've not researched that yet. AOC AG241QX (TN): 471.34$ Gigabyte AD27QD (IPS): 844.93$ Asus MG278Q (TN): 654.76$ And the 4th promising one would be LG 27GL850 but there's not enough info yet. So here I am. The AD27QD looks really good but is it really worth almost double the price of the AG241QX? MG278Q I am assuming is the same as the PG278Q but with freesync instead of G-Sync, if so it also look promising. Anything else I missed, anyone with personal experience with these monitor to share? Thoughts, comments? Thanks!
  6. 970 in my rig but I could certainly use a polaris card to upgrade my media PC.
  7. Never heard of them but hey, the right button just died on my current mouse so I certainly could use a replacement
