You want low DPI and low sensitivity...

Windows sensitivity (pointer speed) should be kept at 6/11 with enhanced pointer precision unchecked.

Game sensitivity is generally fine anywhere between default and 0, but you don't want to raise it above default. DPI is what you want to increase if you need more sensitivity, but you should try to keep this as low as humanly possible without it becoming impractical...At 1080p resolution, you shouldn't need to go even as high as 2000.

    Put simply...

    - If in-game sensitivity is too high, lower in-game sensitivity as much as you need. If zero is still too high, then lower DPI.

    - If in-game sensitivity is too low at it's default sensitivity, then raise DPI.

I think people are perfectly within their rights to dislike something that isn't what they subscribed for...That's what the like/dislike dynamic is for.

Fact is, the majority of people who subscribed to NCIX Tech Tips did so because of Linus. They're subscribed to see videos of Linus. The majority of people probably have no idea that he's left. The people who follow Linus closely enough to know that he's quit NCIX and started his own company will still be the minority of NCIX subscribers.

Now, once people realize he's actually gone (or if he hasn't gone, then once he has), there probably will be a horde of people that unsubscribe. There will be some that are content with a new presenter and there will be people who subscribe because it's not Linus doing it anymore, but they will lose a huge chunk of their viewers and they will need to rebuild their channel...That's just a natural consequence of a personality-driven channel that changes its personality.

Imagine the next season of Breaking Bad suddenly became a documentary about the relationships of cellmates in jail and it happened to be amazing...People who tuned in expecting to see a continuation of the story would still be pissed off and they'd still complain, despite the fact that it was good, because they'd have formed expectations about Breaking Bad and what it delivered. That's all that's happening here - people's expectations aren't being met and so, quite reasonably, they're disgruntled. That doesn't make them children, it just makes them human.

You'd have a point if people subscribed to the channel because of the name "NCIX Tech Tips", but they didn't. They clicked subscribe because this funny little guy called Linus was making interesting/entertaining videos and they stayed subscribed because he continued to do so. NCIX was not the expectation - Linus was.

Go back to 6/11 windows pointer speed. You're making your mouse less accurate by changing it. Maybe you've forced yourself to get used to a whacked-out sensitivity, but you'll benefit by getting used to a lower one.
Anyway, is the switch from metal to plastic in any way actually noticeable?
Well considering the main function of a mouse is going where you point it, being better at that is rather significant - especially if going where you point it is important to you, as it tends to be for gamers.

I really wish these old fools would stop trying to regulate something that they clearly don't comprehend. It's David Cameron, so doubtlessly this whole thing will fall flat on it's face, but still.

No. They're making porn sites opt-in. Technically, they won't be blocking any porn because they don't understand that the internet was created specifically to nullify this kind of censorship, but you get what I mean. Also, what constitutes "extreme"? Simulated rape is arguably censor-worthy, but are we going to have the screaming hog-tied women of kink.com being censored? What about japanese porn, where the women can look rather in-distress to foreign eyes? Does "Alice-18" (made up) get shut down because it's trying to look as youthful and innocent as possible?

Also, fuck this. I am confident that this would catch some poor sod looking up rapeseed child labour, or Nabokov's "Lolita".

Fuck it also because it just encourages criminal paedophiles to be more technologically literate and utilize the deep web, making them even harder to nail down.

Edit: A good point made in the /r/unitedkingdom subreddit...

I was a kid on the internet back when deep web material was far more easily found, so on the off-chance this idiocy holds up, they'll just be exposing children to the same shit I was. They'll literally be moving things back by over 10 years.

If you're using a 1080p monitor and anchor your wrist, I wouldn't bother with 450. You end up having to "reset" (lift your mouse and reposition it) far too often. If you think you could force yourself to start using your entire arm, then it might be beneficial, but I couldn't say for sure. 1150 is still within the boundaries of sensible dpi as it is.

Where do you get the idea that this mouse has any acceleration, let alone a lot of it?

This being your first gaming mouse, don't force yourself to get used to a high DPI unnecessarily. Generally the lower your DPI, the better (until it becomes impractical, anyway).

"It has weights and stuffs" pretty much covers it. If you need a mouse that's good at being a mouse you get the G400 (FPS/Competitive games), but if you instead need an extended keyboard (extra buttons), then you get the G500 (MMOs/RPGs).

The sensors are basically the same. The shapes tend to be on opposite ends of the palm-grip spectrum. Someone who doesn't like the feel of the DA will tend to be at least somewhat comfortable with the G400 and vice-versa. I think the DA buttons might be slightly lighter to press as well.

As far as proficiency at being a mouse though? Basically the same.
