  1. I'd say it depends on the switches more than the keyboards. If you've tried 5 mechanical keyboards that all had blue switches, then maybe you'd prefer blacks/reds, or maybe you'd prefer ALPS switches, or buckling springs, or topre switches. Also, if you've only tried 5 mechanical keyboards, why do you hate any and all types of mechanical keyboard?
  2. If you want a keyboard with white keycaps/body and a backlight, you're looking at either the Tt eSports Meka G-Unit Combat White (partially backlit), or the white verions of the KBT Pure and KBT Race (white body, white keys and white backlight).
  3. Nope. It's the reason a lot of people disregard laser mice completely from consideration. If you could compensate for it's flaws with software, then laser vs optical would practically be a non-issue. Also, it probably goes without saying, but Google for as many reviews as possible before you buy anything.
  4. Like I say, it's annoying because although it's suited to our grip, the sensor isn't the best choice for FPS. Laser sensors all come with acceleration you can't turn off (the speed you move the mouse affects how far the pointer moves, which messes with your aim), whereas optical mice (specifically the avago 3090 sensor + variants, which you'll find in the vast majority of popular gaming optical mice), don't. If the G9x had an optical sensor it'd be the obvious choice, but as it is you have to weigh accuracy against comfort (you might find you're comfortable with a mouse other than the G9x, but you'll never find a G9x as accurate as an optical with the A3090).
  5. Okay, so your ring finger and thumb are what's gripping it? If your wrist is anchored and your palm isn't involved, you want a smaller mouse. The G9x is annoyingly suitable for grips like ours (I'm the same as you, minus the claw), if only it was optical... I'd again suggest considering the CM Storm Recon (116mm length - the same as my Krait 2013), though the claw aspect may mean you'd prefer something smaller still, in which case the CM Storm Spawn or Razer Abyssus might suit you best. That said, the G9x is still so damn attractive. As far as the shape, you become accustomed to most things eventually. Be prepared for any new mouse you buy to feel weird if it's a different shape. It'll probably take you a few weeks/months to become as accustomed to it as the mouse you've been using for years. Edit: I should probably mention the Recon has an issue with the LED affecting the polling rate when it's turned on. Some people don't notice a difference while others have to have it off.
  6. There's a few ergonomic mechanical keyboards (Ergodox and the Advantage Kinesis come to mind), but I don't think there's any that are identical to the wave.
  7. Firefox. Tab amount varies, but typically stays within single digits.
  8. A few things... - Does your palm rest on the mouse or not? I guess I'm asking if your grip would constitute a "fingertip claw grip"? - Be wary of "I have X and I love it", or "I own X and it's great" posts. People usually like what they're using (usually, not always) and typically don't have much context. - What mouse do you have, what length/height/width is it and is it noticeably too long/short, wide/narrow or tall/small for your hand? After that, this chart might be useful.
  9. Define "gaming" keyboard. Do you want macros? Pretty lights? Media controls? Windows key disable? Childish aesthetics? All of the above? Realforce/HHKB.

    Good Usb Mic

Search for reviews on Google and Youtube. That'll give you a better idea than any of us can.
  11. The point is, optical mice work better. Maybe you can't feel the acceleration impacting your aiming ability, but that doesn't mean it doesn't deny you a few kills here or there.
  12. Well you said you mainly play FPS, so ignore laser mice and concentrate on optical ones. This means the Razer Deathadder and Abyssus; the Logitech G400/G400s; Zowie AM, FK and EC mice; the CM Storm Spawn and Recon; and the Roccat Savu. With the red request in mind, either the CM Storm Recon, Roccat Savu or the Zowie AM might appeal most to you.
  13. Please don't link to Funnyjunk. Ever. It doesn't help the pony cause.
  14. Some other IBM keyboards had them and Unicomp still sells some, but otherwise no, nothing else.

    Ocz

I'm currently using their Vertex 4. I haven't had it long, but I have no complaints so far.
  16. If you're an FPS player, keep in mind the M90/M95 has unavoidable acceleration. As for the keyboard, try and wait for the K70/K95 or get something else, so you don't end up with rubber domes ruining your keyboard.
  17. Buckling springs are nice to type on, plus it's durable as hell.
  18. So wait, Windows 8 seems like a downgrade to you because it BSOD'd for your granny and you buggered it one time a few months ago?
  19. They're essentially the same as gaming platforms. The question is whether you adapt to change well.
  20. Fingertip grip with a Razer Krait 2013 (a shrunken Taipan with the Deathadder 2013's sensor and orange lighting). Also of note, I hold the mouse with my index on left click, middle finger on the mouse wheel and ring finger on right click, which is supposedly a bit unusual. Ideal for fingertip grip, so that your own hand/palm doesn't become an obstruction when you're moving the mouse around.

The Snowball should be fine for some basic mumble/skype/vent, but the Yeti and Samson are good options too, especially if you plan to commentate videos/podcasts or what have you.
  22. Try the American Beauty Score (not soundtrack) for something similar. It wouldn't surprise me if this was by Thomas Newman.
  23. I think you're turning wapanese I think you're turning wapanese I really think so.
  24. It's supposed to be very comfy, but again, headsets have limited sound quality.

    Ideal dpi

If you're comfortable where you're at, don't go higher. There seems to be this weird notion that you should try and use as high a DPI as possible...I tried doing the same thing a few years ago and I have no idea why. It makes no sense. It's probably the people who force themselves to encur ungodly amounts of DPI that find they need "sniping buttons" just to shoot straight. If you can do multiple 360s with a pivot of the wrist, your DPI's probably too high. In fact, it's probably best to have it as low as possible without it being a hinderance. After that, it's all down to the sensor and muscle memory.
