But it's support you need? You can't remove your palm from the equation entirely?
-
Oh dear. I asked if any palm contact was purely incidental and I realize you never acknowledged that as right or wrong. Would it be correct to say you use the base of your palm for controlling the mouse? If not, then what's to stop you gripping the mouse further back? Also, how long have you been using it?
-
Maybe, but that doesn't mean it was as good an idea, or better. Generally speaking, being "attached" to an implement is typically unfavourable. Headphones still get ripped from the heads of their wearers as they walk away from their computer having forgotten they were wearing them, while the Oculus Rift would also probably be an easier sell if you didn't have to be strapped in.
-
I think it's because you have an extra point of control. If I'm rightly imagining what n00b_person's suggesting, then by having your hand "joined to" or "become" the mouse in the form of a glove, you'd lose the ability to adjust positioning with your fingertips...control would come down to purely arm and wrist movement.
-
The only thing I can think of is that it doesn't have the most substantial side-grips, but I imagine the shape alone will solve the "losing your grip" issues you had with the Naga,
-
Unfortunately it isn't. It's larger in size and it has a laser sensor. The only other FPS mouse Roccat make is the Kone Pure Optical.
-
Well they say assumption is the mother of all fuck ups. I was going to ask your grip earlier and then realized that since you used a Naga, you must have a palm grip... As it is, I'm guessing you're a fingertip gripper that only incidentally makes palm-contact due to your mouse being too large? Going off that assumption, see if you like the look of the CM Storm Spawn, Razer Abyssus or Razer Krait 2013. They'd be ideal size-wise, but unfortunately small mice tend to be rather feature-sparse, with the Spawn being the only one that even has side buttons. If you're okay with something larger, then the Zowie EC2 Evo, Roccat Savu, Roccat Kone Pure Optical and Corsair M40 are all a step smaller than mice like the DA, Rival, G400 etc.
-
Supposedly the Rival is heavier and the side buttons look like they're more "out of the way", but then seeing as you had a Naga, I doubt accidentally pressing the side-buttons was an issue for you. Edit: Deathadder cable is braided, Rival's isn't. Again, preference-dependent. Objectively they're equal. You can't really go wrong with either one.
-
If you're looking for the best mouse, objectively, for FPS gaming? Optical is indeed better than laser mice and for precisely the reason you stated. You'd want to get a Corsair M40 over a Corsair M65, for example. DPI-wise, I use 800. That's as low as I can go without it becoming impractical due to my grip (if you read the other thread, you'll get why I think lower sens is better ). Back to the mouse itself, a Deathadder seems like the logical conclusion. It has grips on the sides, a perfect sensor and it's what the Naga's shape was deviated from, so it should be (comparatively) an easy transition.

I posted that in July and you joined the site in August...?

As far as I'm aware, there are no many-buttoned optical mice with a "perfect sensor". Even the G602, which is optical, doesn't have a perfect sensor. This is the problem with companies putting the same crummy high-DPI sensors in every mouse, bar one for people who know what they're doing. Even Steel Series are doing it now, bringing out a mouse with a supposedly decent sensor (Rival), but following the same 5-button design of the DA, G400s, AM, KPO etc. I think the best you can do for now is getting a mouse with a couple of side buttons and a couple of DPI buttons that can be redefined, plus maybe a scroll wheel with tilt buttons (does anyone other than Logitech do this? It's barely ever mentioned.)
-
The Naos 5000 has a different sensor to the 3200 and thus the Deathadder as well, though the Deathadder has a much newer version of the sensor in the 3200.

See if you can still get ahold of some Creative Aurvana Live! headphones (I got mine for about £55). Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide rates them highly, but then I'm pretty sure most places do.

http://www.nxstek.com/NXS-silentmouse.htm They're seemingly sold at QuietPC, KustomPCs, ShinyHardware and some eBay vendors, though I can only vouch for QuietPC and KustomPCs.
-
A question to those who use ridiculously high DPI: Do you happen to find yourself becoming fingertip-grippers? I forced myself to use high DPI a long time ago and ended up anchoring my wrist for some additional stability, and ever since I've used a fingertip grip.

I need a good game pad ( basicly 2 analog sticks) For PC
Toby replied to LOST TALE's topic in Peripherals
See if you can get one of the old Batarang 360 controllers that came with Arkham City. It's Microsoft certified (high quality) and improves on the default's d-pad. -
I doubt he seriously thinks the controller is equal to KB&M for FPS unless he's never played an FPS on the PC, in which case that's how you change his mind. As for the controller haters in this thread, there's plenty of games they're better for. Racing games, platformers, fighting games, beat'em'ups and GTA-like games, to name the majority. I played Arkham Asylum with KB&M for all of 5 minutes before switching to my controller because KB&M was so horrible for that game by comparison.

Your curiosity's peaked by a clothed anime breast? Try these.
-
No they can't. Aside from the software acceleration, there is acceleration inherent to sensors which can't be changed. This is why all the "acceptable" mice in that chart are optical mice. That said, it's a silly chart that's obnoxiously presented and rather out of date.
-
It's sensitivity. Ideally, you use the lowest one you can bear without having to change any other sensitivity settings to compensate.
-
You just have to decrease it in the same way you increased it. Incrementally. If you're at 6/11 windows pointer speed with enhanced pointer precision off, I can only imagine how your cursor flies about the screen...
-
For those with mouse pads, optical is preferable. Granted, those who like to use their mice on sandpaper might be better off with a laser mouse.
-
You're correct, it's not optimal for FPS games (or rather, the sensor isn't). I know it's a boring option, but if you've been satisfied with your experience of the Deathadder, the best option could be another (newer) Deathadder.

I'm glad to hear it - and slightly surprised. Usually people prefer what they're used to, but I guess the brain naturally prefers consistent movement. I'm often terrible at explaining things and it's because I fail to communicate concepts as well as that, but yes, you're exactly right.
