  1. I'm using a logitech G710+. It's not a bad keyboard but I could definitely use the upgrade because RGB!
  2. CPU: Core i5 3570k @ 4.0 GHz GPU: nvidia GTX 770 RAM: 16 GB Score: 1.5 One of the fans on my GPU has been rattling for a long time now. This makes it really difficult to not impulse buy a 970 =/
  3. I found this channel late 2012 during the planning of my current rig. I was in dire need of an upgrade. I was always into building computers since before the Intel/AMD wars became a thing thanks to my dad, but had been slacking on what's current and what I really needed for my new machine. LinusTechTips was the single biggest help in getting me back up to speed and teaching me how to get the most from my budget. As for what I'd like to see in the future? I'm not really sure. I watch stuff I'm generally not very interested cause pretty much everything here is gold. I would say my favorite stuff is the build logs and personal rig updates and performance reviews.
  4. My favorite things you pointed out in this review are the display, and the red accent that goes around the perimeter of the computer. Looks really sweet. Looks are of course relative..I wish you'd had a review of the Lenovo Y50. I'd say it's a contender with this G550JK: similar pricing, same screen size. It's thinner though not by much, and has a GTX 860m. Unfortunately the FHD version has a pretty bad display.
  5. I liked the part you talked about the camera with the "please don't hurt me, camera people" on screen.. Don't worry, I couldn't tell a good pic from a bad one and I almost never use a camera, even though my G2 has a pretty decent one! Don't give me a G3 though. I'll just root it and put CM on it like my G2. Just kidding. Please upgrade me lol
  6. I've been bashing my head against a wall (figuratively..literally, only my fists) for a few days now. I just got a shiny new Y50 from Lenovo. I'm not able to get nvidia's 337.88 driver installed. It installs the latest GeForce Experience software but GFE says the 332.50 driver is up to date. The 337.88 driver is WHQL certified and lists compatibility with the 860m but when trying to install it, it says "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware." On nvidia's website, it says "Your product manufacturer requires you to download a driver for your device from their website" but of course from Lenovo it's 332.50 and is pretty outdated at this point. I've tried everything I could think of, and some suggestions from around the web, like using a modded .inf file and forcing it to install unsigned drivers (which resulted in Windows 8's version of a BSOD). It's driving me nuts. Anyone know a way I can get the updated drivers installed? Should be a pretty noticeable increase in performance.
  7. I would love to have this phone. My favorite features are the metal construction and the front facing speakers. I do spend a lot of time on youtube and the iPhone/Nexus 5/ LG G2 bottom speakers do NOT cut it in noisy environments.
  8. Interesting.. Maybe it's just the content or some option in software I'm not seeing. Thanks for your opinions, guys!
  9. They do get loud, just that (I guess depending on the content) I can turn it all the way up and still want a little more. Maybe it's just me.
  10. I picked myself up some new headphones, JVC HA-RX700 to be exact. I actually like them, but if they're terrible I didn't do the most scientific research and I am by no means well-versed in audio products/technologies (and they were cheap). Anyway like I said, I like them but they seem a bit quiet. I figured it's because of the 48 ohms impedance. I started reading some topics in this forum and apparently a sound card could practically blast basic headphones to sh!t. What do I do? What I would like is the option for higher volume, and some virtual surround audio..if that's a thing. Or is it so simple as they maybe need to be broken in, and I can use a software solution for surround? For reference, I'm using onboard audio on a Z77-UD4H, Realtek 892 I think.
  11. I don't have much to be embarrassed about. I guess I feel kinda dumb for buying a 2GB GTX 770 now that upcoming games recommend 3GB? The worst thing has to be the Cooler Master Hyper 212+ that sits atop my 3570k. It's actually mounted kinda crooked so it's not perfectly horizontal Hopefully I can throw an H80i in there and then things will look better!
  12. Thanks Whaler, I added the beta option. I'll see how that affects the PPD. Just the GPU slot, then?
  13. Not sure yet as I only just got it running. My client estimates about 2x what the CPU gets. It estimates 35,233 for the GPU and 17,536 for the CPU, that's a Core i5. The 7950 belongs to my friend. I borrowed it for a couple of weeks as the graphics card was the last piece I bought for my computer. He was running two of them in crossfire with a first gen i7, but all he really plays right now is LoL and for anything more serious he feels he's limited by the CPU anyway..coupled with the trouble he's had getting crossfire to work sometimes, he isn't missing it. Anyway..as I understand from what I've read in other discussions, Kepler-based cards really aren't all that great for F@H are they? The current Radeons are better for this kind of thing?
