  1. Hehe, those were my initial inspirations. The rainbow arrangement is based on the Apple logo from a similar era.
  2. Well, finally time for an update. Sorry for being slow. I've been tinkering with making it in CAD, since I'm broke af. Now that was a decent starting point, but I kept working on it. A general concept I'm liking is this:
  3. This is the 2009/2010 version, so you can't get this either on the market anymore I think... I just happened to find someone selling it used. He'd apparently bought it a few years ago and tired of it, so here we are.
  4. Hello everyone, we're starting a new project now that the MKII is done... Specifically because I tripped over a beauty on the used market. The Level 10. I bought it from a fella in Nodeland, which sounds like such a cool place I'm naming the build after it... To start with today, we've got a simple mod installed.
  5. Sorry for the day! But we're... wait. We're not just en route, we're done, for now!
  6. Due to unforeseen circumstances (read: indecision) I need a bit more time than I anticipated. Oh well! Here's picture of radiator fans in the meanwhile.
  7. We're almost done. (24 pin is just disconnected while building. Ignore that.)
  8. Okay, we're getting there. Some of the watercooling is coming together.
  9. And today, we take a look at the end result of stripping down the case and doing small things all over the place. Now I just have to decide on my tubing runs and all that fun stuff.
  10. Today has been a long day. I've taken apart the MKII almost entirely, sleeved cables and rebuilt it. I've put waterblocks on my cards. I've tapped the screws for the P-clips in the back. I've improved the cable management. But light's out. So I can only really show a little bit of the journey right now, from when I took pictures of the main "structure".
  11. Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like it'll be time to drill and tap. Now where's the 3mm drill bit... ...Damn it, past self.
  12. The 24 pin cable is done! I've gone ahead and tested it, then put it into the PC. Also toyed around with the P-clips accompanying the case... but there are some problems. Most of the female threads in the motherboard tray are duds. The M3 screws to be used simply drop into the hole, not catching on to any thread... Emailed xforma for advice, but in the meantime I used some of the ones that worked! So question for you all. What do I do about the screw holes that are too big for the intended screws?
  13. I'm going to be spending some time sleeving my 24pin today, so not much to show right now... But I did get some tips from Maple Syrup Mods on the EK discord. I didn't know you could pop the cap off your D5 pump! Let me put the heatshrink behind the cap, turning the visible result into a shrinkless pump!
  14. Not the most flattering picture, but here's an update all the same. I had to uninstall the PSU to test a new cable, so when putting it back together I opted to install the new PCIe cables too, and also put in the radiator, sort of as a testfit. I'm a lil' dizzy today though, so I'll have to get back to you on more pictures.
  15. Thanks. I was particularly wondering how it was compared to D5 and/or DDC, sorry for not being clear.
  16. Hey, can you do me a favor and tell me how the H220 is compared to other pumps in terms of noise? I've got an NCASE M1 that I want to watercool, but I want to keep it simple w/ something alike the H220, or Fractal Design's Kelvin...
  17. Alright, fellas. We've got a radiator! And I gotta say, the previous owner packaged this real good. That said, it's a used radiator, and it shows. I'm undecided whether I want to leave it as is in memory of past times (sans fixing the fins up a lil'). Or to repaint the casing (taking care not to paint the fins).
  18. Alright, that's PCIe 8pin #1 done. Now to cut, crimp and sleeve another one. Update: Finished another cable.
  19. Jeez, 3000 RPM? Most people were buying AP-15s if I recall, those are whisper quiet.
  20. Oooh. This'll be interesting to keep an eye on. Though I disagree with your evaluation of those fans - the Gentle Typhoons are still excellent and quiet fans. Not to mention I'm fairly sure that's a late edition of the GTs, after their brief resurrection.
  21. It'll get better. But I wanted to finish making the PCIe cables at the very least before I go and change that up. I'm looking to replace all the cables that aren't individually sleeved yet.
  22. Hello people, I thought maybe it was time to start a build log for this puppy, after I've held off doing much with it (for various reasons) for an embarrassingly long time. I originally received the MBX MKII in December of 2016. For various reasons it was stuck in storage for a long time though, and I only finished building a basic build in it in October last year. But rather than dwell on the past, I'm focusing on now - I have a lot of time, and I've mostly sorted out my things here after a recent move. So now we're building, albeit somewhat in steps. For one, I'm still working to afford a few more watercooling parts before I put it under water. Before we move to pictures, let's throw in the specs: CPU: Intel i7 5820k Mobo: Asus Sabertooth X99 RAM: 32GB (4x8GB) G.Skill Value 2400MHz C15 GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 FTW PSU: EVGA Supernova G3 750w SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 1TB HDD: WD Green 3TB Update: The build is done! Old post: Now this build isn't complete, far from it even, so please be patient with me.
  23. Find where the issue begins and ends. 1. Do you experience these issues on other sites in general? 2. Is it exclusive to the current browser you use? Does it work better in Edge? 3. Is it exclusive to your current machine? Try using a different computer or phone. 4. Are you experiencing packet loss? (Just ping something you know you have consistent issue with, see if latency is high or packets lost.)
  24. At least add some caveats to your statement on crunchyroll, Luke. Out of the box it flat out is a useless site for users across the world because of licensing agreements, and require VPN or other similar tomfoolery to get working straight. I mean jeez, Fate/Stay Night wouldn't even appear in the search as an info page for me. I thought for sure that they didn't even have the show until I searched their site via google and got to their page from there, which told me more boldly that licensing agreements wouldn't let them air in my location. (Though that's fixable at least.)
