Device a doesn't have analog output. My current option is to connect Audio tv -- audio card -- pc -- speakers device A -- HDMI 2 HDMI + audio -- audio card -- pc -- speakers pc -- speakers Video device A -- HDMI 2 HDMI + audio -- TV pc -- TV I hope to be able to make it work with a decent audio quality. Thanks for the advice! Due to the deafness of my father he has a special "in ear " bluetooth device to be able to hear. This device enables him to listen the pc but volume can't be adjusted easily. That's the reason both volumens need to be indepement

yes, it is necessary to use the pc to set the totally independent independent volume levels. If I use the TV analog output changing the volume would affect both volumes. This is inconvinient. However your idea is really nice as I can connect the analog input to the pc as input, and then redirect the audio correctly.

I am looking for a solution/idea to solve a problem for my living room setup. I am open to nearly any setup that may work, looking for ideas. I have a device, let's call it "A" which has a HDMI output, a PC with speakers connected and a TV. I want to get the HDMI output of "A" into the PC (a way to get an HDMI input) so that I can see the content in the TV and hear the sound with the PC speakers. To sum up VIDEO: Device A --> PC --> tv AUDIO Device A --> PC --> Speakers PD: the reason I need to use the pc speakers is because i need to be able to have 2 volume levels at the same time (one for the speakers and one for a wireless headphone) because my father is a bit deaf. This is unachiveable with the tv.

I would like to see a good tech review of the car. With some real information as I am interested in the kind of technology in this kind of vehicles. The video however was just a long TV add. I am sorry to say that I didn't like the video, it was just uninformative, too much acting trying to be funny and 0 nearly 0 actual content. I understand that Linus is not a Car guy, but reviewing in depth the interface of the Prius as well as giving some thought about the car seen from an "utilitarian-car" point of view would have been much more interesting.

I'm thinking to use one of these between the office and the factory of the company where I work. The link would be 200 meters with Line of Sight. My boss is obsessed with reliability. Are those reliable, I mean, how much time could they be down during a whole year?

Thanks for the advice to all of you! -
I currently have an HTPC with the photos of all my liffe and my father's life. I also have an external USB drive with a copy. My mother is really paranoic with the data and wants something specific for safe storing so I'm thinking on giving some backup solution as a present. What's safer? Nas Raid 1 with 2 black HD Nas Raid 1 with 2 ssd Any other option?, any specific nas?

I'm planning on updating my build I'm thinking to buy PSU: Corsair RM650 650W 80 Plus Gold Modular RAM Intel Core i5-6500 3.2Ghz Box CPU Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 2133 PC4-17000 16GB 2X8GB CL14 Motherboard MSI Z170A Krait Gaming Heatsink NOX Hummer H-300 CPU Cooler Total costs 603 euros in Europe. I already have ssd 120 gb Define R4: I think the black and white theme will look great as the case also uses white and black theme AMD 6870 HDD 3tb I usually do matlab, programing (CPU intensive tasks) and some light gaming so I don't plan to upgrade the graphics card now, maybe in the future when I have some spare money.

I'm thinking in building a new computer an I'm having problems to choose the socket. Is the new 1151 worth the extra-cash ? 1150 pros -cheaper -At this moment more CPU aviability, and cheaper options 1151 pros -new -may allow for more future upgrades Note: my build has a budget of around 600 euros (psu, ram, motherboard,CPU, NOT graphics card, NOT case, NOT hard drives)
-
the reason you choose option B is due to the possibility to overclock?, or just because you don't think the socket update is worth the extra cash?
