  2. Are you sure this laptop doesn't just ACTUALLY have an i7? After a quick google search I see the Ideapad 330s as having an i7 8550u.
  3. Maybe you could try that build of Windows 10 for Raspberry Pi's? I don't know if that supports running native x86 programs, but I bet even if it did start, it would perform FAR worse than just about any other computer you could get. I would suggest looking for a used x86 computer to run whatever you need Cinema4D for.
  4. Doesn't look like there is a build of Cinema4D for ARM, so I'm gonna go with no.
  5. Are you trying to play these games on Windows 10? it's likely some of your hardware doesn't have a proper driver for Windows 10, you'd probably be better off going back to Windows XP or Windows 7
  6. I assume it would be for throwing some charge in a weak battery that you don't want to or can't hook the clamps up to. The cigarette lighter in your car is fused, typically at 15 to 20amps, so you can't start a car with that level of current, but you will slowly charge the vehicles battery off of it. If you've seen some other places on the internet, they sell little solar panels that sit on your dash and plug into the cigarette lighter to trickle charge your battery.

f*ck this shit. I went out of my way to go to a…

You gonna list it for sale on the forums or just eBay?
  8. Yeah unfortunately a previous owner did a lot of not nice things to this beautiful car just in the name of doing things as cheaply as possible... I guess I'll just wait it out and maybe sand and repaint the bumper next winter...
  9. Yeah, that's what the previous owner told me, but to be honest I hate the look of those bra's, especially with the racing stripes. I think this must be a different bumber from stock, as it doesn't fit with the rest of the body kit either, so I assume whoever had this before cheaped out and did a single coat of the color with no prep work.
  10. Took the Miata out for a cruise this weekend. Runs decent once it gets started, but still a work in progress. Hopefully replacing the throttlebody / Idle Speed Control Valve today to try and fix my idling problems. Anyone know how I can fix the paint issues on the front bumper other than completely redoing it? Never seen paint damage like this, almost looks like the raw plastic underneath.
  11. I mean, the WD15 is a USB dock, so even though it's using USB-C, it's still connecting everything over USB so there's an abstraction layer there. A native Thunderbolt dock like a TB16 would be closer to plugging those devices directly into your laptop, so you may notice better performance. However, USB-PD is still 100w max either way so you'll still probably need your regular power supply connected as well.
  12. I can read most of the words that you typed, but to be honest, I have no clue what you're trying to say.
  13. Well considering it's a forum for distributing personal information with the intent to harass people, I would probably say it's not safe, and you probably shouldn't discuss it here.
  14. If all you're going to do with this PC is stream LoL, you need to get whatever is the best CPU you can afford, focusing mostly on single core performance. League will run on basically any GPU just fine, but bottlenecks hard on CPU, especially while streaming.
  15. I think he's talking about monthly points. Which we are in #1 for.
  16. Yup I have one. They are inexpensive compared to other models, so you kinda get what you pay for. The USB ports are unreliable, so plan on using a USB hub. Also, the 40mm fan that comes in the power supply was started making a VERY LOUD and annoying noise after a little while and I had to replace it with an aftermarket model. After replacing that fan (which requires you to disasemble the PSU to some extent) it got a lot better. The 1080 that comes in there is very quite though, and its still a standard card, so I just ended up taking it out of the enclosure and putting it in my desktop.
  17. Replacing the broken aftermarket radio in the Miata... A previous owner decided to CUT OUT the factory harness and wire in their own... Now I have to cut their harness out and wire in a new one... What would possess someone to do this when the factory harness adapter is like, $3?

  18. Sounds like you should just disconnect from NordVPN.
  19. If you want a cure in any form, you should contribute. Public knowledge should never be limited in its use, and it wouldn't make sense to restrict a company from making profit off of something that is public knowledge. That's like the public knowledge that if you have a wheel with a belt on it, and you turn that wheel, it will move the belt which could be used to move another wheel, was restricted and companies couldn't use it or profit from it. In that case, cars probably wouldn't exist, a lot of industry might not exist. I think with Coronavirus a lot of companies want to be known as "The company that saved the world from Coronavirus" and would probably do whatever they could to get that title. I don't think any kind of drug or treatment will be 10 or even thousands of dollars any where, I would be willing to bet it would be similar to a flu shot, or tetanus shot.
  20. I think you might be conflating two concepts. I'm not an expert on this so I might be wrong, but this is how I understand it. The research is all public domain, any advances in our understanding on these virus's/ molecules / whatever's is public information at that point. What drug manufacturers patent isn't like, a single chemical, or a single protein or something like that, they simply access this data and create and synthesize a drug from it, likely using information and processes that they developed themselves (or licensed) and that's what they actually hold a patent to. So none of the knowledge gained from F@H is being patented, it's still helping to further human understanding, but companies are likely to use some of that public knowledge to figure out how to create a new product from it that they own a patent or copyright to. It's like how a motherboard manufacture doesn't own the patent or rights to every chip on the board they are producing. And most if not all of the information on how all of those pieces work is public information, but they do own a copyright or patent to the whole board as a product. Ya know, they own the layout of the board, and they own the plans, but the don't own the rights to every single chip and resistor. F@H is not working to create a drug you will be buying from Walgreens, they are working on finding out how all these proteins and viruses work together and publish that information, so someone who DOES want to make a drug and knows how can use that information to do so.
  21. Ehhh, I have one and I wasn't super impressed. You can't really game on it on it's own as USB-C can't supply enough power and the battery drains. Not to mention my trackpad was broken out of the box, I sent it back and they gave me a refurb unit, so I paid new price for a refurb unit, but that's their policy. Definitely go with a 1080p screen though, and Windows Hello is pretty cool.
