Yea they have to think about all the devices they have apps for. The majority of there players would not handle AV1 very well so why support it until all the player hardware can actually play AV1. Let alone play it better then what is currently offered to make the dev time worth it. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see it for another few years.

Wear and tear is very hard to quantify. If properly cooled and power optimized cards should last a very long time. Traditional mining and Folding are both quite similar, using as much RAM as is available on the GPU.

I am expecting another mining boom when new GPUs are released. Maybe not as crazy as the 30 series launch sense Covid made that a lot crazier than 20 series launch. I do think now is a good time to buy if you are wanting to get a newer card.

A USB-C to Ethernet adapter would require a software driver that the Deeper Connect would not have. That goes for any other accessories not provided by Deeper themselves. I wouldn't expect anything to work unless Deeper says it does.

The reported numbers for hashrate from nicehash jump all over the place from my experience. The main thing you want to look at is what you are getting paid every 24 hours and if it is inline then there isn't anything to worry about. So we are always getting paid the same amount but its just the amount of bitcoin changes dependent on the price. Like I said this is how I understand it but I am not 100% sure

Doing it yourself and not using a utility will allow you to do whatever you want. I always thought that you couldn't mine Doge with CPU or GPU because you couldn't with litecoin. So if this is the case and you could actually find a way to do it. It would take you years to even accumulate 1 doge. So i've always assumed getting an asic was the only option cause you can mine litecoin and doge at the same time. That's about as far as I've looked into it though. Good luck in your research

The person renting out their hardware could be taking some sort of fee. Not to mention the fact that doing it this way the renter is not having to pay fees to transfer around the coin. So they are able to essentially do and exchangless transaction off blockchain for cash. Now arguably they could hold the coins and it has a chance to go up but that is a long to term play where this is a good way to cash in on the crypto hype short term. Ease of use sells itself. If someone is not as inclined to use an exchange or wants to steer clear of exchanges because they heard about Mt. Gox for an example, they would much prefer to have this sort of arrangment

Before you get to into it you'll have to check on compatibility. A lot of the easier solutions like nicehash only stay up to date on profitable hardware.

I use a a Ledger hardware wallet as well and it lets you access your wallet both on your phone and and PC(windows for me) freely. I absolutely love it for long term storage. The other features of the app aren't competitive for me in Canada so your mileage may vary in that regard. Reminder to only buy hardware wallets from the manufacturer directly or from a distributor they link to on the official website. Again I absolutely love it and I have never had a hick up or bug while using it for the last year. Highly recommend this over a windows wallet because if your pc dies you have access to it on your phone and vice versa. Any questions about it let me know.

It isn't always necessary, it is really dependent on your setup. This folding rig for example doesn't use a special motherboard and doesn't have any extra motherboard power. Often times you can get PCIE to PCIE risers that have extra power right on them to help prevent this problem. You may not have any problems with the 3060s because they'll pull less power. Hard to know without just trying it out

I had always found that I would be making really close to the same on nicehash vs setting up specific miners. This doesn't really help if you are looking to mine for specific coins but my perspective is that if you want a specific coin you can buy some with your bitcoin earnings from nicehash. To go back to your original topic, I was in your shoes at the beginning of the year so I'll go over what I found and what I'm doing now. This got way longer than expected lol in Spoiler

For your mining options on a machine that is only mining I would use the NiceHash OS to get the best performance with little maintenance. I use the nicehash ecosystem because I can access all the different types of machines from one dashboard. For example I have my dedicated mining rig running NicehashOS and 2 windows machines running Nicehash quickminer that I turn off of mining during the daytime and back on before I go to bed. All of this I can do from my phone or any desktop and it shows all your systems in one place for great monitoring. I have seen lots of hype around HiveOS as well but my experience has been that it takes a lot more to setup and maintain profitability. This is pretty much spot on. I use a Ledger Nano X partnered with my iPhone and it works amazing. They give you the back up phrase on setup of the device that should never see a digital form, it should be written down physically and stored somewhere extremely safe because it can fully recover your wallets ownership. Only purchase from Ledger directly unless their website sends you to somewhere local to buy it. Also the exchange that is built into the app has high fees for purchasing crypto compared to other options I have in Canada so my suggestion is to explore your options. I can't recommend the Ledger highly enough though. I have never run into a coin you can't store with it and I'd say my interest is mainstream to partially matured coins. I have never have it error out or glitch when going to use it. Any other questions on hardware wallets let me know!

I don't have any other suggestions. Often utilities had to be specifically verified to work with these duel gpu cards and now that they don't make them anymore support with current apps has just gone down hill. My experience is on windows so I wouldn't be surprised if its leaking out to linux. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I got back into F@H with Team LTT at the beginning of Covid because I felt it was important and I will be continuing the support now that I'm older and understand direct impact it has.

From just doing a little bit of research on the HiveOS site, they only support 10-series and up from Nvidia so that's probably why you're unable to do anything. You'll have to check on your AMD card. I know that Nicehash's OS is the same way only supporting profitable models of cards these days. You'll probably just have to boot up your main rig to play around with it.

I suggest you boot it up with HiveOS and play around with it.

In unraid I have a capability variable that might fix your issue.(Spoiler) I've never dealt with a duel GPU card in unraid before but I know it does weird things in windows.

I've been using nicehash for a couple months even before the LTT vid and have had no problems. There is lots of security around withdrawing funds but nothing was locked out for any other reason besides just making sure it was me doing it. Can recommend.

I've been running advanced the last little bit and have been cruising without any hiccups.
