GS is slightly smaller and I think a smidge quieter. There are a few technical differences but not enough to make one better then the other

EVGA G2 6/750W would be best IMO.

Do not touch the Supernova NEX series. G2 is significantly better quality as it is from a better ODM.

haha   Think the only cpu's I've ever seen quite large performance gains from overclocking is my 5960x but that's only because at stock the single core performance is pretty poor and my Athlon 240 again because it was pretty weak single core

G Skill Ripjaws V 3200 C14 is what I bought. In fact, those kits have even more overclocking headroom in them. I increased voltage from 1.35 to 1.39, and took my kit from 3200 C14, to 3600 C14-14-14-28-2. Combine these tight primaries with tighter tertiary timings, and you end up with bandwidth like this:

Samsung B-Die (what those kits use) overclocks quite well, with very little effort. Sadly, on X99, you won't get much out of a kit like that. Once you do upgrade to Z170/Z270 though, you will most definitely be able to achieve 3200 and beyond. As for Kingston Hyper X Savage, I believe those use Hynix AFR/MFR. As for overclocking, they do great, far better than Micron, but they might fall behind Samsung B-Die on air. I can't remember, and I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. Best place to find out information like that, would be under the memory subsection of the HWbot forums.

Yeah I was also considering going back to 1080p native as 1080p on a 1440p screen looks rubbish compared to native due to the stretching I know I have a GTX1080 but in a lot of AAA games it struggles at 1440p to even get a constant 60fps it's not as good as it's hyped to be yeah in some games it's great and hits the upper 100fps mark but not in every title and I end up having to tune settings back or resolution even in overwatch I have dynamic reflections off and AA off as it dips below 100fps which I like to stay within that range and then there is dishonoured 2 that doesn't even run great at 1080p let alone 1440p

I didn't notice much of a change going to them. The temps stayed about the same. The biggest change for me was the noise. In a rush, I bought SP120 Performance editions, they generated a little more noise than the quiet ones I thought I ordered.

The EK's claim they are about the same decibel rating as the SP120 PE, but I feel some days I don't hear them at all. I have a little bit of noise coming from my PC. Literally just tried to record it and all it ended up picking up was my clock ticking the seconds away. My wall mounted clock makes more noise than my PC's fans do.

What does that even mean? At the end of the day what matters is performance, and we can easily look at benchmarks and see that the 1060 performs better despite the lower amount of VRAM. Looking at VRAM to determine performance is like looking at cache size to determine CPU performance.

Also, correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the current memory compression used in GPUs also increase the amount of info you can store in VRAM (on top of increasing bandwidth)? Because if it does, then 1GB of VRAM on an Nvidia GPU can contain quite a bit more info than 1GB of VRAM on an AMD GPU (because of Nvidia's better memory compression).
I might be wrong though, and the memory compression is only used to increase bandwidth.

A 1060 will be a massive difference I can't remember if the 1060 does that no fan spin thing it may do I know my 1080 fans don't spin up till the card hits a certain temperature made me kind of nervous lol that the card is gonna overheat but i'm use to it now. Selected 1060's probably do the same thing I know the Strix version of the 1060 doesn't spin up it's fans at idle.
